Dorm Roof, Monday Evening

He'd been good about smoking lately, but after yesterday Anders felt kind of justified in wandering up to the roof and lighting up.

Especially after it had belatedly hit him that with everything going on in his life the past few weeks, he'd completely missed out on the first few weeks of baseball season.

Maybe he'd take a trip up to Boston again sometime soon, or maybe Baltimore, and hit the ballpark for a few days . . . it was worth considering.

Bel headed up to the roof to check on the state of his garden after the school explosion. Fortunately, it seemed to have survived. He spotted Anders and nodded his head at him. "Hey," he said.

"Don't I rate a nicer greeting than that by now?" Anders teased from where he was sitting on the edge of the roof, his feet dangling over the edge.

"Hey, baby?" Bel smirked.

"That's much better," Anders replied, patting the spot beside him.

He . . . wasn't joking, actually. Much.

Bel settled beside Anders and pulled out his own cigarettes, lighting one with a fireball. "Sign up for workshops yet?" he asked idly.

"Showoff," Anders jibed. "Yeah, did that a little while ago actually."

He scooted a little closer and leaned his head against Bel's shoulder. "Gonna tell me I should've asked permission first before I chose which ones?"

Bel smirked again. "Bet I can guess which ones."

Anders snorted and flicked ash off his cigarette onto the grounds below. "Fine then, take a stab at it."

Bel took a deep drag off his cigarette and exhaled slowly. "Flying, blowing shit up, and Phoebe's class."

"Holy --" Anders looked at him in surprise. "I didn't think you knew me that well."

"I know you better than you think," Bel said. "You fly on your glider, a ship would be the next step. I know you had fun in Revolutions. And Phoebe's class, like you'd miss that."

Anders ducked his head so Bel couldn't (hopefully) see him blushing. "Aww. That's kind of sweet. It's okay, I won't tell."

"So." Bel tapped his fist on Anders's knee. "Any plans for this weekend?"

"Nothing really?" Anders lit a fresh cigarette off the butt of the dwindling one. "Thought about maybe heading out and catching some baseball somewhere but I'm not too sure I want to do that alone. I mean, I didn't think you guys would be interested, and . . . yeah."

"Phoebe wants to visit Venice," Bel said casually.

"Yeah?" asked Anders. "Sounds like fun. You guys gonna go?"

Bel nodded. "Wanna come with?"

"Seriously?" Anders sat up in surprise and wobbled on the edge of the roof for a moment. "You wouldn't mind me coming along?"

Bel put his hand on Anders's shoulder to steady him. "We've been through so much crap here recently, Phoebe wants to share something nice."

"I'd love to go, but I figured you guys would want some time away from me," Anders said hesitantly. He looked at Bel thoughtfully. "What do you want?"

"Wouldn't be asking if I didn't want you there," Bel said, flicking his finished cigarette off the roof.

He was being slightly avoidy again, but it was cute. Anders turned and brushed his lips against the side of Bel's neck lightly. "Then yeah, I'd love to go with you."

"We'll go Friday morning and come back Sunday night," Bel said, leaning against Anders.

"Yet another advantage to having a demon boyfriend." Anders flicked his cigarette off the edge of the roof and wrapped his arms around Bel. "Have I mentioned that I love you yet, today?"

. . . he was still trying to see if Bel would flail, yep.

Tori wanted some fresh air and hadn't been up to the roof lately, so that's where she ended up.

She was still trying to get some thoughts together, about Blake and Luke and everything that had happened this weekend. It had been quite eventful.
