Second Floor Common Room; Tuesday Morning.

This was Turtle. Turtle was bored. So Turtle had taken all the cushions off the couches and chair and laid them on the floor to create a protective mat as she worked on standing upside down on her hands without using the support of the wall.

"...Ooof." Sigh.

"...Ooof." Kick the leg of the couch.

"...Ooof!"

...It wasn't going very well.

Annette was on her way to see if Dick was in his room when she heard strange noises coming from the common room. Peeking her head in, she laughed at Turtle.

"What the crap are you doing?"

"Shut up," Turtle said, throwing her legs up and trying to straighten all her limbs at once to do the handstand. "It's...yoga."

One leg started falling, and then, the rest of her, and Turtle flopped onto the cushions. "Ooof."

Giggling, Annette walked in further. "That's not any kind of yoga I've ever seen. Looks to me like you were just trying to stand on your head."

"It's super-powered business yoga," Turtle said, trying again. "From the Japanese."

"Riiiight." She folded her arms across her chest and watched Turtle with bemusement. "Want me to help you?"

Turtle snorted. "No," she said, firmly, and tried again. This one actually stuck. For a few second, anyway. Face down on the cushions, she sighed, and pushed herself up. She settled into a sitting position, legs folded in front of her, and she sighed. "I think I'm done anyway."

"You give up too quickly. Let me show you how easy this can be." Annette tucked her tee-shirt into her shorts (she didn't need Turtle checking out her goods now did she?) and came over closer to the wall. With a grin at Turtle, she tilted herself over, planting her palms and top of her head on the floor, and kicked her legs back until her feet were against the wall. Then slowly and carefully did she raise her legs straight until her body was parallel with the wall.

She grinned, "See?"

What a stupid show off.

Turtle very deliberately lifted her hand to the back of Annette's knee and pushed forward sharply.

"Hey!" She toppled over and fell sideways on her face. "Crap, Turtle!"

Man, what a loser!

Turtle grinned like a dope. "What?" she asked, assuming complete and total innocence. "Man, gotta watch that breeze in here. It's a doozie."

"And to think," Annette said, pulling herself up into a sitting position, checking her face for any signs of blood with her fingertips. Hey, her nose hurt dangit and she's already had it bloodied once this year! "I was trying to be nice to you."

"Breeze my ass," she mumbled, glowering at Turtle. "And wipe that grin off your face, you look like a dork."

"Oh, get off of it, Annette," Turtle rolled her eyes. "You're so overdramatic! You can't honestly tell me that hurt."

"Maybe. Like you would care. And look at you? Such a crybaby and giving up just like that. Geeze."

"Oh, yeah, crybaby me, boo hoo hoo, look at me just crying up a storm." Turtle rolled her eyes. "Like doing a handstand is a real prime goal in my life. How can I even stand to look at myself in the mirror?"

"I don't know how you can stand period with such wobbly legs. Let alone look in a mirror." She shuddered. "You have a little somethin' somethin'..." Annette waved her hand around, indicating the whole vicinity of Turtle's face. "Can't believe you walked out of your room like that."

Turtle looked down at her legs with a frown; they weren't...wobbly. Just...scrawny. Well, they all weren't built to be track stars like Annette Hoo over there. She looked back toward Annette. "What are you talking about? There's nothing on my face..."

Pause. "And if you use that as an opening to get something from the fridge and get something on my face, I'm so punching you like I should have when you were four."

"How do you know there is nothing on your face? Hmm? It's not like you can see it right now, geeze."

She smirked, "If I wanted to get something on your face, I could. And I do run very fast. Not saying that I would run, Turtle, cause I wouldn't just let you punch me and get away with it. No way." Yeah. That's right.

"You're so full of crap, Annette," Turtle said, and then rubbed her hands over her face. Just in case there was something. She looked at her hands. Nope, nothing there. Her eyes narrowed at Annette.

She shrugged a shoulder, "Oh, I guess that's just your face. My bad."

Turtle scrambled up to her feet. Those? Were fighting words. "You take that back, Annette, you jerk!"

Annette scrambled up to her feet as well, "Like it would do any good, Turtle Wexler!"

You'd think Annette would learn after a while, but she was blonde...

"Oh, yeah?" Turtle asked and then sharply kicked Annette's shin. "HA!"

"Ow!" Annette clutched her knee up, hopping around awkwardly. "Turtle! You are so going to get it! God! Is that all you can do? Kick like a little girl?" But holy crap did it hurt like hell!

(heee, you know I'll be here to resume the hate ~~total love~~ relationship thingy going on here.)

Billy's version of resting looked a lot like walking around. But he didn't feel that was any great danger to his ribs.

"Greetings and salutations." His limp was almost completely gone.

"Hey, Eyepatch," Turtle said, upside down, having managed to get it for a fleeting second before she came crashing down again. "Oof."

Turtle crossed her arms over her chest and snorted a laugh. "Works, doesn't it?"

"You all right?"

"Uhg, you are such a baby...baby girl!" Annette walked hopped to the kitchen to get some ice. But once there she grabbed a cube and threw it hard, aiming for Turtle's head.

"Yup!" Turtle chirped, giving an appriciative pat to her makeshift mat.

Thunk. "Ow." Pouting slightly, Turtle rubbed the spot on the back of her head where the ice cube hit and then looked around at her feet for where it fell. Then her pout turned into a genuine frown. "How am I the baby in this situation? You're the one whining over a teeny little shin kick."

Definitely good thinking there." he nodded. "Any particular reason for the interest in head standing?"

"Teeny? It will bruise, just like last time. And you know you kicked me hard, Turtle Wexler. I'm going to learn to kick just as hard as you then we can have a kicking match." Which sounded so wrong it sounded right.

Turtle shrugged, and made a face. "Bored."

Despite herself, Turtle was grinning at Annette's words. It was a good kick, wasn't it? She snorted another laugh, finding the ice cube, bending over quickly to pick it up and chuck it back at Annette. "You're on. But remember, I have years of experience over you, Annette."

She ducked and the ice cube sailed past her. "Experience? What, is there some sort of kicking class that I don't know about? Hey, kick people! It's fun! And you can act three again all for the price of one dollar!"

Turtle arched an eyebrow at Annette and gave a very distinct glance down. "I'd watch it, Hargrove, 'cause it looks like you've got another shin just begging to meet my foot."

"Hah! There's distance between us and I bet I can run faster. Not that I would run from you, no way."

"I'm sure you could outrun anyone," Turtle smirked, reveling in this. It was almost too, too easy. "Big track star that you are, and all."

"You just shut up, Turtle." Annette said, forgetting about the ice. She didn't need ice, she was tough.

"That's as good a reason as any. Understandable too. No classes, still a few weeks before the newbies get here for brain breaking."
