Jackalope Campfire, Friday Evening

After John managed to stop gaping at the wall cutting A-3 off from the cabin and unpack his things, John drug a couple chairs out to the campfire and lit it.  It wasn't dark yet, but a fire was good ambiance for people watching.  At least, he thought they were people.  John sat down and opened War and Peace to page three.  He was right on schedule.

Alec had dropped off his things in the cabin, then wandered outside to where the fire was, dropping down onto a seat and glancing at John quizzically. "Hey, are you in side A?"

John looked up from page three, "Why yes I am! I take it you're one of my cabinmates?"

Leaning over to offer a hand, Alec nodded. "Alec, I took A2," he said in greeting.

Taking Alec's hand, John replied, "John, I nabbed A-4 after our other roomie put up a magic wall." John considered Alec for a moment and cocked his eyebrow, "Are you magical, too?"

"Ugh, no," Alec said, shaking John's hand and then sitting back, making a face. "I'll stay away from magic whenever I can. Is said roommate inside that weird barrier thing or just paranoid about his things?"

John smiled, relieved. "He's inside it. Not the happiest dude, but nothing a little...social interaction won't cure," John chuckled. "You been here long?"

"Since last summer began," Alec said, smirking. "It's a good place, if completely weird and wacked out."

Katara and Molly had been making the rounds of the campfires looking for their little siblings and Chad's little sibling.

They wandered up to this campfire. "Hi!" Katara said with a wave. "I'm Katara and this is Molly. We're looking for our little siblings."

John smiled broadly, "I don't know we're related, but you're more than welcome to join me here." He gestured at the chairs around the fire.

"Thanks!" They'd been walking around for a while so Molly was totally ready for a break. She accepted the offer of a seat without hesitation. "I'm looking for someone named Bail or Ball or something like that."

"Yeah, I noticed the lack of campus when I was registering," John was a bit disturbed that none of the buildings in the brochure seemed to exist.

Sitting was definitely a good thing, and Katara took one fairly far away from the fire. "I think my little sibling is a girl," Katara said. "And unless we're getting very different new students, I doubt you are."

"Well, the dorms are still there," Alec said with a grin, like he found it amusing. "And the library, I think. But this place bounces back well, so they'll probably rebuild just as good if not better."

John was pleased to have so many lovely people at Fandom. "Sadly, not a girl. I'm John, by the way."

Molly looked over at Katara quickly. "John Sheppard?"

Katara grinned at Molly then looked back at John. "Are you John Sheppard?" she asked hopefully. "Because if you are, you're my roomie's little sibling, and we were hoping to meet you."

"Glad to hear it." John looked around the fires with students sitting and chatting. "Have you met our fourth roommate?"

"That's me. You're Chad's roommates then?" John smiled. He had wondered when he would meet his own big sibling.

"Yep!" Katara beamed at him. "Chad's in Japan with his boyfriend until next week sometime. So we wanted to find you so you weren't by yourself."

Lana wandered out of Minotaur and made her way towards the campfire she could see nearby. When she saw who was sitting there her jaw dropped and her eyes went wide. "Shep!"

She could feel her heart pounding like crazy. When did he come back? Why didn't he tell her he was coming? But over all that was just a huge feeling of joy. She flung herself towards him, just wanting to go into his arms. "Oh my God, I can't believe you're here!"

Molly laughed behind her hand a little at how Katara had put that. "So that you would have someone to ask questions and wouldn't think that you'd been abandoned by your sibling. We didn't think you'd get lost or anything."

"Well, that's awfully nice of you." John leaned back in his chair.

John was taken aback. Who was this girl, and why was she attacking him. How did she know his name? John figured he ought to play along in case she was magical like his roommate. "Uhh, yeah, I just got here," he said.

She wrapped her arms around him, hugging tightly. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming?" she asked. "God, I've missed you so much. How did you get them to let you come back?"

"Where'd you come from?" Katara asked, still gleeful they'd made sure Chad wasn't going to look like a horrible sibling.
