Chimera Campfire, Friday Evening

After making sure her replicates had set up her things in Chimera A4 is that okay with everybody? to her satisfaction, Z headed out to the campfire to see what was to be seen and finish off the last of her stolen pie. Mmm, pie.

((Open, as campfires tend to be.))

"Delgado!" Conner greeted her, coming over from Pixie. "How's things in the land of future teammates? Did you get a load of the blast from the past this morning? I mean, dude!"

"I didn't say anything to him!" Conner objected. "I mean, yeah, I told him I was from his future, but I didn't go up all 'Dude, your formerly-evil teammate with the scary hair grows up to steal your color and teach me to do what you're doing!'"

"It's still supposed to be mostly secret now," Conner grumbled. "So not my fault about the whole getting stuck thing . . . okay, so it was, but . . ."

"Exactly," Conner said. "So why are they gonna care about him being one, too?"

Ladies and gentlemen, Conner McKnight in tonight's performance of Missing the Point, now in year eighteen of a spectacular open-ended run.

"Hello, CabinMate!" Evie bounced over to the campfire, gleeful about camping already. "And hello, Conner. Are you here all summer? Are you still a TA?"

"Yes, all settled in! I took B-2, if that's okay?" Evie held her hands out to the fire, rubbing them together. "Did you have a Little Brother or Sister to meet? And have you run across Kelandry yet? I think she's the only truly new person in our cabin."

"I think so?" Evie looked uncertain now. "Impossible to tell with some names. My Little Sibling turned out to be a boy with a Chinese name. And yes, the co-ed thing is rather a shock at first. At least I found it so."

Poor Evie has no idea who her new roommate is going to be. She may be even more sympathetic after that.

"Kou Leifoh," Evie said, careful with her pronunciation, then snorted. "He's... very friendly. And he used to be twenty-five, and is now sixteen again."

"I'd say he was making the best of the situation," Evie said dryly, then frowned. "Though it doesn't sound like it was much fun for him at all. Horrible scientific experiment, or something. He's in Chupacabra cabin, I'll introduce you eventually, I'm sure."

"Is that what it means? I was going to look it up on the internet, but I haven't tried to use my laptop yet." Evie started giggling, and couldn't stop. "Goat... sucking?"

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-05-12 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
"That's rather... ahem. Yes. Well." She giggled again. "I'm just as glad to be a Chimera, then, I think. At least we're part lion, that's rather impressive."

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2007-05-12 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Huzzah, Chimera!" Evie punched the air, and hugged herself. "I do too. I got two workshops I wanted, and I'm going to adjust to the other one with some effort, I think. What are you taking?"

"Oh, those sound exciting. I did love Flight Club," Evie said wisfully. "But Aeryn's eye always twitched when I got in the simulator... Um, I'm in History in Action, which sounds rather jolly. Re-enactments. And Treasure Hunting!" She bounced again at the thought. "And, well. 'How to Annoy Teachers.' I still cant' believe that's not a mistake."
