Outside Sphinx cabin, Tuesday morning

Ami had a good night of no nightmares and woke up early and refreshed. She couldn't wait to tell Henry about the shack. It was totally usable!

Now she was sitting in a canvas chair, looking around at the chirping birds, and realizing that not only had she not done anything with her Little Sister, she hadn't really met any new students yet. Oops. She really needed to fix that. As soon as she could muster the energy to get up. The chair was more comfy then she had previously thought.

One of the best things, for Setsuna, about the camp was how easy it was to do her morning training in the woods, and she returned from today's personal excersizes to see Ami out by the campfire. She gave her a small smile and a nod of her head. //"Good morning, Ami-chan."//

//"Good morning. How are you?"// Ami was polite. Horribly, formally polite.

//"Well, thank you,"// Setsuna responded; somewhere inside, she was wincing at the formality of her tone. //"The Preserve this time of year is a great place for training; perhaps someday soon here we should get together and have a session out there."//

//"Perhaps, yes. I was just there myself last evening."// Ami said. She was not the type to be happy that her tone made her friend wince unlike her mun who is totally happy, but she really just had no idea what else to do.

//"Doing what?"// Setsuna asked, pulling up a chair and sitting beside Ami.

//"Well,"// Ami said, a bit unable to not be drawn into a chat with Setsuna //"Henry and myself want to do some chemistry experiments, and i had heard there was a shack in the woods, so i wanted to check if it would be suitable."//

There was a slight pause, leaving Setsuna blinking a bit. //"The abandoned shack? Kind of falling apart, but still stable?"//

//"It is fairly stable, and with a bit of work has proper ventilation. I think we can use it."//

Yup, Setsuna remembered it being pretty stable too. Enough to handle a minor wind attack, even. Ami might notice that Setsuna was ducking her head slightly in an attempt to hide a blush. //"G...good. I hope the experiments go well."//

And, although Setsuna knew both Henry and Ami to be very scientifically minded people, her own experiences in that shack had her feeling a little bit of...yes, it definitely seemed a bit like jealousy. //"What sort of experiments are you conducting that would require the services of the shack?"// she asked, while her brain supplied her with rather inappropriate answers.

//"I hope they go well too."// Ami said, noticing the blush but not knowing it's cause. //"As for what sort... well, we hadn't rightly figured it out yet, but possibly something with magnetic attraction or Avogadro's constant. I had always wanted to try that one."//

The blush deepened, despite Setsuna's effort to assure herself that these had to have been completely scientific terms and were not euphemisms for something else. //"I...I see,"// she said, slightly staggering, as she wondered if she could put a rule on her students dallying about with each other in such manners. On one hand, she would not stand for such behaviour from her pupils. On the other hand, she didn't even really know if it was dirty, and, besides, what right did she have to be jealous?

No. Not jealous. Why would she be jealous? She shifted a little in her chair. They still...needed to talk about....stuff....

//"Any workshops today?"// Setsuna asked quickly. Ahhhhh, avoidance. Thy name was Sakurazaki.

Now Ami really was wondering what it was about chemistry that made Setsuna blush. Or... was it Henry? That couldn't be it could it? He... wasn't Setsuna's type was he? Ami blushed herself, a slight pang of jealousy rising up in her.

Glad for the change of topic she thought to her schedule //"Arts and Crafts i believe. You?"//

A light smile broke through Setsuna's smattering of light blushes. //"I have Arts and Crafts as well. I've...really got to stop taking those classes...."//

//"Oh"// Ami had not realized they had workshops together. //"But why? They are fun."//

//"Ami-chan,"// Setsuna smiled a little. //"Do I really strike you as the arts and crafts type?"//

Ami gave her an appraising look, as if thinking about it. //"No, but it is never too late to learn."//

Setsuna bit her lip a little at the look, and shook her head. //"Strange thing is, I always do well, too. I passed my home ec class with flying colours. I can't even bake! How did that happen?"//

//"Was baking required? I should have taken that class if so... any excuse to play in the kitchen really."//

//"There was...some cooking involved,"// Setsuna said, recollecting with a nod. //"I...was sort of able to get over my whole aversion to eggs, though, so I suppose that sort of growth counts for something..."//

//"Growing experiences are the best kind."// Ami said, nodding. //"You know if you ever want any help with cooking or baking, all you need to do is ask?"//
