Dorm Roof [Thursday, Morning]

The roof is there for emo, right?

Which is why when Mac, finding she couldn't really concentrate on anything much at the moment anyway, decided to get out of her room, that was where she went.

Now, she's sitting cross legged near the edge of the roof, and stabbing absently at the fruit salad she found for breakfast with a fork.

Savannah had been exploring and thus, found the roof. She spotted mac and walked over to her.

"Hey, Mac."

It took a couple of seconds for Mac to realise there was actually someone talking to her. When she did, she glanced over her shoulder up at Savannah. "Morning," she returned, not entirely enthusiastically.

Savannah had a good idea why Mac was not the most cheerful and she wasn't sure what to say. She liked Mac and was sorry to see her full of woe.

"Do you feel like company, Mac, or would you rather be alone?"

Company, probably a good thing right now. Mac shrugged, "Pull up some roof," she said. "If left alone, I'll probably just mutilate my fruit salad further."

Savannah dropped down to sit next to her. "And that would be a very sad thing," she agreed.

"It really would," Mac said with a slight nod. "I like fruit. Not quite in a fruitarian kind of way, but... stabbing, bad."

Mm, distracty tangents, so good for the soul.

"Stabby bad unless doing it with a small fondue fork and you are dipping it into chocolate."

"That I'll agree with," she allowed. "Seeing as I don't have any chocolate around, I'm going to go with the bad," Mac said, sighing and forcing herself to put her bowl with the remains of her breakfast down.

Savannah bit her lip. "Why don't you come to my room tonight. I have chocolate and we can have fondue and stuff and ..." What does one do to cheer up the girlfriend of a friend that went away?

Chad had no idea what he as doing up this early. Maybe all the sleep he got that other day had thrown off his sleeping schedule. Either way, he had time to kill that couldn't be slain by sleep, so he went up to the dorm roof, because he kinda missed this place. He didn't realize that when he got there, he'd miss other things, too, like all the people he usually spent time with up here...not being here anymore.

He spotted Mac and would go next to her if she wasn't near the edge. But he still offered a "Hey Mac" as his hands went into his pockets and he glanced out over the view.

Mac, who by now had finally given up on the idea of breakfast, twisted a little so she could see him. "Hey, Chad," she replied. "Didn't picture you as a morning person," she added after a second.

"Chocolate is supposed to be a mood enhancer. All that tryptophan," Mac said thoughtfully. "Must be why it's tradition."

She gave a slight brief smile at Savannah. "I'm not that great company right now," she warned.

"I'm not," Chad said. His eyes were fully expressing his confusion but, as they were covered by his hair, the only indication of how baffling he found the event was restricted to his slight pout. Yes. Definitely a little bit of a pout.

"Anyone who expects you to be good company right now should be smacked."

"How's the experience working out for you?" Seein that pout, on the big Mexican, might have cheered her just a little bit.

Mac huffed a slight laugh and shook her head. "I find any, I'll send them your way," she said.

Chad would be happy to know that Mac found pleasure in his not-a-morning-person pain. "It's not...bad. Haven't walked off the roof in a zombie-like need for coffee yet, so...." He shrugged.

"You do that," Savannah nodded. "Besides, I gotta look out for ya and people expecting to be bright and cheerful."

"Up here, and without coffee." Mac shook her head slightly, rubbing her hands slowly over her knees in lieu of stabbing fruit. "You're a brave man."

Warren had never actually managed to make it up to the roof yet, but he'd heard a thing or two about it, so seeing as he had no classes, he wandered on up.

"Huh. This . . . is a roof, alright,"

Chad looked down and over at Mac a little. "What about you? You seem mopey. I thought the mopey stuff only happened at night in the rain." He wanted to go sit down next to her, but the edge of the roof made him weary. Maybe in a little bit...

Mac arched an eyebrow at him. "You were expecting something else?"

"I prefer my rooftop mopey when I can see the edge," Mac replied. "It's safer."

"That's nice," Mac said simply. "That, well, you're doing the looking out thing, even though you don't know me that well."

"You're a smart girl, Mac," Chad said, a little wide-eyed over the fact that he never thought about that and was rethinking his moping schedule.
