Fourth Floor Common Room [evening]

Aravis was curled up on the couch, watching the television with a faint mixture of horror and interest.

She had discovered cartoons tonight, you see, and there was a Looney Tunes marathon on.

She had to admit that she really didn't understand why anyone would trust these ACME people anymore, considering the faulty wares they sold.

And she was torn on whether she preferred that annoying, noisy bird, or the poor stupid dog thing that seemed to be indestructible.

Ronan was a little restless this evening, so was wandering the dorms a bit aimlessly when he found himself at the fourth floor common room. He poked his head in. "Hello?"

Aravis looked up and smiled. "Evening. Have you come to cook for me again?"

And that would be Seely leaning on the back of the couch. "Hey."

Ronan laughed and stepped inside, glancing at the television. "Not tonight. Perhaps tomorrow? I find myself disturbingly restless this evening, and was wandering a bit." He shrugged. "You seem to have found something to occupy yourself."

Aravis looked up. "Hello," she said, smiling up at him.

"It's fascinating," Aravis said, staring wide-eyed at the television. "Is this a document of war between these creatures?"

"Awwww," Conner said, wandering into the common room with a catalog (http://www.soccersupplies.com/playerequipmentshoes/) of soccer equipment in hand. "I love watching that poor dumb coyote get himself all beat up and just keep trying. Hey, maybe I'll name my kids' team that. Conner's Coyotes. Yeah."

"It's so sad," Aravis said, tilting her head at the screen. "Why does he keep doing this? Why is he so stupid?"

"Hey, cool, Looney Tunes!" Dean said as he wandered in.

Adam was still awake and a tiny bit restless, so he made his way into the common room.

"Oh, I love this cartoon."

Seely grinned and bent down to kiss her cheek. "How've you been?"

"Hey," Seely waved.

Aravis nodded. "It's a bit horrifying. Good evening, Alec."

"Hey, Dean," Seely nodded.

"It's fascinating," Aravis enthused. "Look, how the dog-thing has absolutely no grasp of tactics."

"He's not stupid, he's persistent. He's all determined to catch the bird," Conner said, quite possibly practicing Pep Talks For Kids. ". . . okay, yeah, so he's stupid, but he gets points for not quitting."

"He really doesn't, nope." Adam shook his head, amused. "It's what makes it so great. He just keeps at it, even though his scemes never work."

"Hey, man." Conner waved back at him with the catalog, which made kind of a cool glossy rustling effect. "What's up?"

"I'm excellent, thank you. You?" Aravis said, patting the couch beside her. "Sit with me."

Ronan shook his head. "No, it's just fiction. This stuff never really happened." He grinned. "Shows like this are usually considered entertainment for children, but I've always found that there's a certain amount of humour intended to reach the older members of the audience."

"He's a complete idiot," Aravis said, almost in awe. "More completely than anyone I've met."

"Hey," Seely said, with a smile. "It's one of the better episodes, this one."

"Or does he lose them for not recognizing defeat and bowing out with dignity?" Aravis countered.

Adam nodded in agreement. "That's Wile E. Coyote for you." He chuckled. "I'd certainly hope that was the case. I'd hate to think there's someone out there worse than him." He teased.
