Fourth Floor Common Room, evening

It was still way too hot to consider doing anything outside for the evening, so Isabel wandered down the hall to the common room and the TV. It wasn't till she'd flipped through three different documentaries on the Roswell Crash that she realized what day it was. The sixtieth anniversary of their ship's crash.

Strangely intrigued, she settled on one of the more recent documentaries, snickering as she recognized some of the people they interviewed as Crashdown patrons and Crash Festival regulars.

Johnny'd slept through the beginning of the football game, and so decided to do some more exploring of the dormitories instead. Most of the building seemed pretty empty, so we he got to a common room with a TV on, he poked his head in to see what was going on.

Something about aliens. Seemed interesting enough.

"Mind if I watch too, or this a kind of a private thing?" he asked.

"Weather balloon my ass," Isabel muttered at the TV before turning to smile at the new person. "Nope, open viewing for all. Grab a couch!"

Taking the invitation, he sat down comfortably on another couch, and put his feet up.

"Johnny Blaze. 'M new around here," he said by way of introduction. "Which UFO event they talkin' about on this?"

"Isabel Evans," she nodded. "I'm pretty much old at this point. It's the Roswell Crash. Sixty years ago today."

Johnny nodded appreciatively. He'd heard about the crash, but he didn't believe all the crazy tales he'd heard about it. He was in for a rude awakening.

"Sixty years? That's longer than I thought it'd been. They ever find out what actually happened?"

Isabel didn't snicker much. "Well if you believe the government, it was a weather balloon. If you believe some of the conspiracy theorists, depending on which conspiracy theorist you talk to, the aliens came here to bring enlightenment, or possibly enslave the human race."

"Really?" she said simply, "They were just looking for a place to be safe."

"Y'think so?" he asked, looking over at her. "Seems hard to tell that much from a crash site."

"I have a little more personal experience," Isabel shrugged. "I was on the ship."

Johnny blinked at Izzy a few times, trying to figure out if she was pulling his leg or not.

"Y'look pretty good for sixty," he managed to get out.

After cleaning up from the football game, Marco wandered into the common room. "It was a toilet seat." He informed the television.

"I moisturize well," she grinned.

"Oh really?" Isabel asked. "You know this for a fact?"

"Obviously," he answered cheerfully. "So, 'f you don't mind me askin', what's it like being an alien? Any different from being human?"

Marco nodded. "We had to break into Area 51 once, and they moved the contents of the crash to a storage facility and it was a toilet." He paused. "Never give someone a fake phone number that has eight digits in it."

Johnny waved at the unfamiliar boy entering the room before hearing his comment.

"Toilet seat?" he asked.

Marco nodded. "Toilet seat."

"Seems kinda small and unusual for such a big cover up event," Johnny said.

"Technically I'm an alien-human hybrid," Isabel explained. "So there really aren't all that many differences." Just simple stuff like worrying about being hunted down by the FBI, or evil aliens trying to kill you. "I just have a few extra little abilities." To demonstrate, she held out her hand and her water bottle came floating over from the table.

"The general gaurding it thinks it's a communication device." Marco explained. "So did we, actually, which is why we broke in to begin with. You can imagine the disappointment. And the laughter." Actually, it was mostly Marco who was laughing.

"Different reality then," she shrugged. "In our reality, it was a real ship. And my brothers and I were on it."

"... ... ... Do you have any plans to take over the human race?"

"No," Isabel said. "We just want to be left alone."

Marco gave her his best attempt at a smile. "Deffinetly different universe then. What fell down in your Roswell?"

Up to now, Johnny hadn't really believed all the stories that people had been telling him of strange things happening. In the Carnival life, you made up all kinds of stories and did all kinds of illusions to separate saps from their money.

So his first reaction was to check for wires or magnets. When he didn't see any around, he pointed to the bottle, and looked up at Izzy with confusion.

"How'dja do that?"

"I told you," she smiled. "Alien." He'd either believe her or not. Certainly Fandom would help convince him sooner or later. "You mean nobody's told you about Fandom weirdness yet?"
