Gym, The Dream Oath Auditions, Sunday Evening

Troy and A.J. were sitting, waiting for auditioners to show up. They'd set out a few suggested monologues, and were ready to take notes on their potential stars. And chorus members. And dancers. And musicians. And tech people.

They hoped a lot of people showed up. They even had doughnuts from J,GoB for the auditioners!

There was a stack of information sheets waiting to be filled out by eager auditioners; there was also an information sheet, which read:

Auditions: The Dream Oath: Maria and Draco

Starring Roles: Maria (Mezzo-Soprano), Draco (Tenor), Prince Ralse (Baritone)
Supporting Roles: Maria's Maids (3) (Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano, Alto), Chancellor/Narrator (Tenor), Chorus/Dancers

The Dream Oath: Maria and Draco is the story of a far-off kingdom. Maria, a young noble-woman, is engaged to Draco, the prince, but when a neighbouring kingdom threatens war, Draco goes off to fight. This is the tale of the trials faced by Maria in the absence of her love.

The Dream Oath is a stage-musical adaptation of the opera of the same name.

Rehearsals will be divided among two groups; rehearsal nights will be determined based on actor availability.

Any questions? Ask us in your audition!

[OOC: Shut up, this was always in dorms. Open! Up early, and SP through Monday evening, 'cause of Potterdammerung. Wait for OCD is up!]

A.J.'s there. To be talked to. And pretend like he totally knows all about this crazy musical stuff, really...

"Hi," Annette said, moseying on over to A.J.

"Annette," A.J. met her greeting with a smile. "Nice to see you."

"You too," she grinned. "So. A musical? Cool."

"Yup! Troy's idea, mostly," A.J. admitted. "I'm mostly here for moral support and back scenes stuff. Sets, costumes, although, really, you've seen how I dance. I should be lead..."

"Totally," she laughed. "And why are you trying out for lead? Uh? Bet you would be good at it."

"Too good," A.J. said simply with a nod. "Wouldn't want to upstage everyone else, you know? I'm a nice guy like that."

She looked down, hiding her smirk, "Right, can totally understand that. Need to give those less fortunates a try first, I guess."

"See?" A.J. definitely wasn't hold back his smirk. "You're getting it. " He tapped his forehead a little. "You're so smart."

She did smirk at him that time, "Smart enough to know that I am so not trying out for anything. I just came by to bug you."

"Whaaat?" A.J.'s jaw dropped slightly; his hand covered his heart. "You're killin' me here, Annette. Why not?"

She shrugged a shoulder, "I can't sing. I mean, for real. And acting? Ah, I just don't know about all of that." 'Course, she did have fun at that one school assembly but still, this was something totally different.

"I won't believe it 'til I see it," A.J. said. "What's the harm in just trying out?"

Said he who just about thanked his lucky stars he had the behind-the-scenes stuff to fall back on as his excuse to not try out because he knew that if he wasn't already doing that, Troy would be doing everything possible (everything) to get him up there.

Annette, oddly for her, looked shy. "Because it's in front of people. They would be looking at me and stuff and what if I -- well, I just don't know. Besides, I would have no idea what to even try out for. I bet there is going to be a good turn out here and probably with people who can actually sing. Dancing, I can do...everything else? Iffy."
