Fourth floor common room, Wednesday afternoon after workshops

The good news was that Will had picked up a new CD, with an upbeat sound that would be good for dancing to.

The bad news was that the stereo had broken after she'd put it in the common room's CD player, so she couldn't get the disk out, nor could she get it to stop repeating the same 47 minutes of music over and over. Will wondered to herself if she'd get in trouble for breaking open the stereo to get her disk back. Or if she'd ever want to listen to it again after this.

The common room was open, but noisy.


(OOC: I have to run off for a bit to celebrate my little brother's birthday, but the room is still open, and I will be back later. Back.)

Hermione hadn't been able to find any milk for her tea in the third floor common room kitchen, so she headed upstairs to see if they had any.

There might have been a little uninentional dancy headbob on her way to the fridge.

It was time for some tea. Any time, really, was a good time for tea, and Setsuna didn't have anything else to do, so she drifted into the common room to make some. She gave a small nod to Will in greeting and a small smile for the music, unaware of its repeating capacity. "Good afternoon," she said.

Will nodded back to Setsuna as the album started back up for the third time, and tried to look like she wasn't thinking about destroying school property.

"Hey Setsuna! I don't think I've seen you for while."

Will spotted Hermione and waved back to her, not wanting to interrupt her dancy headbanging that much.

"I could say the same of you, Will," Setsuna, oblivious to any machine murdering intentions on the part of the other girl, smiled. "been keeping yourself busy?"

"I've been okay," she said. "My workshops have been going good, and I've been learning about how puppets make better pies, finished the new Barry Plodder book, and am trying to talk Valentine out of doing a fourth Fandom Chicken movie. You?"

"Oh, God, those puppets," Setsuna might have gotten a little wide-eyed as she pulled down her tea kettle. "I still can't get over them...And now I'm hoping that the sheer WTF-ery of those puppets are enough as a viable reason for not realizing that we're even in that class together. They're sufficiently distracting, I'd say..."

That, and her constant butting-in on the professor's love life, but, hum hum.

"Nah, it's fine," Will said cheerfully. "With so many people in all these different class, I keep forgetting whose in what too, so it's no biggie."

The annoying song on the album started up and she tried to keep from showing too much disgust. "You haven't seen those puppets anywhere else, have you?" she asked. "I'm almost afraid that they're going to come after me when I bake now."

"I...haven't," Setsuna said, gratefully, "but I am about to make some tea. Perhaps we ought to keep an eye out for them, just in case?" She bit her lips as she started to fill the kettle. "Would you like some, by the way? Some tea?"

"I'd love some tea," Will said. "Is it the Japanese kind?"

"It can be," Setsuna said with a smile. "I keep many different kinds on hand. I was thinking of white tea, which is usually Chinese, but I'd never turn my nose up at a cup of green, either, if that's what you'd prefer? I have a lovely sencha blend...has a nice sharpness to it."

"Oooh, I've never actually had white tea before," Will said. She thought it over, but between the repeating CD (and why were they humming Hallelujah in the middle of this song) and her unfamiliarity with tea, she found she couldn't decide between the white tea and the sencha.

"You know what? Pick whichever one you think is better, and I'll try it out."

"We'll go with the white, then," Setsuna nodded, smiling lightly and finding her box of teas. "Always good to try something new. And, if you find you don't like it, I won't be offended at all and will make you something different."

"Hey, everything's worth trying at least once," Will said cheerfully.

She got up to start poking at the cupboards. "Although it'd be even better if we had some cookies or whatever to go with it."

"Or some biscuits of sorts," Setsuna agreed. "Snacks with tea is always a good idea. What do you suppose we have?"

"Oooh, what music's this?" Robin asked, bounding into the room. And possibly dancing a bit.

"Hi!" Robin waved. "Have I met you yet?"

Will pulled a bag out of the cupboard.

"Half a bag of dry Chips Ahoy, and a couple of leftover dinner rolls. Either of those sound good?"

"Uh, the new Fall Out Boy album," she said. "Over and over and over. The stereo's stuck on repeat."

"Both, perhaps?" Setsuna offered with a small laugh. "Not exactly the healthiest thing in the world, but I haven't exactly had any dinner yet."

"Oh." Robin stopped dancing. "Has it gotten annoying yet?"

Will grabbed both bags and brought them back to the common room's main table. "Well, both it is then. I haven't had dinner either, so we can make this a High Tea kind of thing."

"Oh yeah. Well, some of them are still good. But the weaker songs have started to get really annoying."

There had to be a good way to break into the machine and get it out to get it to stop, right?

"Well, have you tried unplugging it? At least to make the music stop?"

Will shook her head. "Nope, haven't tried that, but the power cord runs down behind some furniture, so I don't think I'd be able to get it."
