Actually it's just that he didn't care. "I don't respond well to threats." he spat. "You gonna do something, do it. Don't threaten me. You want to be left alone? Ask politely and I'll leave, and then I suggest you either find a more private place, or put up a do not disturb sign on that door.

He did wonder what was going on, but being threatened tended to make him cranky.
