Jamie is half watching tv and half reading Entertainment Weekly and wondering just how much George Lucas can frak up his franchise even more with a TV Series.

Meanwhile the Food channel is doing a show on Roadhouse food and the craving for barbecue is becoming quite strong.

"Hi, Betty," Z said. "Oooh, food. On TV." It was like the best of both worlds.

"Hey Dorkface," Jamie said looking over his magazine to grin at Z. "Only problem is it's making me hungry. Channels like this make it difficult to keep my girlish figure."

"I have a synthetron," Z said, "but there are two problems. It's back in my room and I'm lazy, and I'm not sure how it does barbecue."

"I'm assuming a synthetron thingie is like those gizmos on Galaxy Quest where you pop a button and food comes out?" Jamie asked. "And if you want I can have a dupe go get some real food. Doesn't have to be barbecue."

Inara wandered into the common room, carrying her teapot, and smiled automatically when she spotted people she didn't recognize. "Hello."

Jamie looked up and grinned. "Hi! Are you a fan of delicious flavor?"

"Um..." She blinked. "I'm...not sure?"

"Pretty much, except the manual is in an alien language so the results are iffy. Ooh, hey, yeah." Z leaned over to poke Jamie. "Make a you get us food. Or I could make a me get us food, I guess..."

"Sorry," Jamie laughed. "I'm hungry and trying to figure out what to send out for. Interested?"

Inara considered, "I wouldn't mind eating, but I'm not that familiar with your food here yet. I'll just trust your judgment."

"Well if you're lazy, I'll send dupes out. What do you want? Pizza? Barbcue? Chinese? All of the above?" Jamie asked. "It all sounds good to me."

"Oh?" Jamie asked. "You sound pretty American. Where do you hail from?"

"I'm from Shinon, which is a member of the United Alliance of Planets," she told him, managing not to make a face over the last part. "But the part you probably care about is where I'm from about five hundred years in the Earth's future."

"Oh! One of the future out of space types!" Jamie said catching on. "Well at least you look human. I just spent a little time out in space and the guys I hung out with looked like a frog, a mushroom and... well I don't know how to describe the other guy but he looked weird."

"Hmm," Z contemplated. "I don't think there's a barbecue place on the island. But I could go for Chinese."

Maybe she'd misheard. "A mushroom?"

"Well I can send a dupe over the mainland for food too. Ah hell. Let's just get it all," Jamie said stomping his food on the floor.

"Go forth and get food!" Jamie ordered.

The dupes gave him a dirty look and headed out.

"Now the trick is to get them back with the food."

"Yep. His head had a big giant cap on it like a mushroom," Jamie said. "He was a pretty cool guy. For an Alien. So what brought you to Fandom? Are you new?"

"And if you don't come back with food," Z called after them, "I'll send replicates after you!"

"A lottery, actually, and yes, I suppose I still qualify, though I'm not as new as some."

"Me or my dupes?" Jamie joked. "Either way I win."

"You won the lottery? Are you a millionare with money to burn because I have some crazy schemes that you can shower cash on me with," Jamie said with a grin. "You must have come in over the summer. I left before all the new kids could come in."

"No, I'm not a millionaire," she smiled at him, despite not knowing exactly what one was, "although the schemes sound interesting. Yes, I did get here this summer. I'm Inara."

"Jamie Madrox," he said by way of introduction. "And even though you're not fabulously wealthy, it's still nice to meet you."

"I'm sorry to disappoint," she laughed, "but it's nice to meet you, as well. Is a welcome back in order?"
