2nd Floor Common Room, Saturday Night

Bart was making pie.

Why Bart was making pie might be a mystery unless you were the owner of a panduppy named Gulliver. But there he was. Whipping cream for the top of a pumpkin pie.

He might be going a little over board, but super speed made a person board easily and the different types of pie kept him busy. He missed his pie class.

[[OOC: Open, as common rooms are. Pies are moddable!]]

Jack wandered in. Pie? Someone making pie? Hey, he had just the stomach to dispose of that.

"Pie is good. I try pie?"

Jack tried the pie. It was pie-ish. And pumpkinny! Mmmmm!

Jack would have said thanks, but that would have interfered with the food shoveling.

Turtle might have been torn between her absolute fear reluctance to be outside alone after dark and her relatively depressed mood after seeing Jeff off earlier, so she compromised by taking her time up the stairs and down the hallway...which was definitely a pace that passing by a common room and pies could not possibly slip under her radar.

"Oooh," she backtracked, drifting in. "Pies."

Turtle nodded. "Pie?" she said. "Would be very, very good right now; thanks, Bart."

Hoshi had been too restless to stay in her room. She thought about going to the gym to work off some energy, but halfway there, she decided that she didn't feel like working out either. She was headed back to the fourth floor when she caught the scent of pie. Poking her head into the common room, she asked, "Is someone baking?"

"I didn't take that one," Turtle admitted, taking the offered pie and, yes, considering eating the whole thing. It was pecan; that was, like, healthy and stuff, right? Nuts were good. "But they did do a lot of home ec stuff, so maybe next semester?"

"What are you making? Can I help?" asked Hoshi.

"Cool," said Hoshi, surprised at how quickly she was picking up expressions from this century. Then again, maybe not. She was a linguist. She took a quick look at the available pie fillings and started scooping cherry filling into a ready-to-go pie crust.

"Why only pies?" Turtle's head tilted as she just dug a fork into the whole pie and called that a good place to start. "You know how important it is to have a diverse reparte, right, Bart? Don't want to limit yourself."

In went a bite. "Mmmm. Not bad, Bart. Not bad at all."

[identity profile] stocksgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-11-11 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
"Then what you want to do," Turtle said, taking another bite and then using her fork to emphasize her words as she talked, "is corner a bit of a market on ice cream, as well, and then, not only are you making the pies, but then you're also getting something more from investing in what goes well with pie."

Hoshi wiped her hands off on her shirt before returning the handshake. Good thing she was still in her work out clothes. "I'm Hoshi."
