Karal had heard the radio last night and hadn't slept much as a result, spending most of the night in prayer. But morning came, as it always did, and with it came both an idea and a hungry horse.

Hungry horses took precedence, however, which was why Karal was down at the stables.

What he was wasn't so sure about was why he'd led Trenor out into the stableyard, or why he was singing. "I call you, when I need you, my heart's on fire. You come to me, come to me, wild and wild."

Trenor eyed him.

"You come to me, give me everything I need. Give me a lifetime of promises and a world of dreams. Speak the language of love like you know what it means. And it can't be wrong, take my heart and make it strong, baby."

Trenor snorted and took a step back, eyes rolling.

Karal had no idea why he was doing any of it, especially not why he was caressing Trenor's shoulder. "You're simply the best, better than all the rest, better than anyone, anyone I've ever met! I'm stuck on your heart, I hang on every word you say. Tear us apart, baby I would rather be dead."

Trenor's ear went flat as Karal vaulted onto his back. And kept singing.

"In your heart I see the start of every night and every day. In your eyes, I get lost, I get washed away. Just as long as I'm here in your arms I could be in no better place..."

Trenor was hungry, he was annoyed, and his person was acting very strangely.

The poor horse had had enough.

He dropped his head and bucked, dumping Karal in the dirt, then bolted to the other side of the yard.

Karal lay there, staring up at the sky. "What in Vkandis' name was that?!" Deeply embarrassed, hoping no one had seen him, he stood up, brushing dirt off his clothes.

When he realised he was still humming the blasted song he smacked himself in the forehead. Trenor stayed where he was.
