The Dorm Lawn, Friday Morning

There was snow. Ino didn't have any classes today.

Together this meant that, clearly, it was a day to play in the snow. And this time she was properly bundled up and wearing the hat and scarf Annette had given her for Christmas. At the moment Ino was entertaining herself by making snowballs and stockpiling them.

The first person she saw was totally getting a snowball lobbed at them.

[Open! So very open!]

Michael didn't catch Earth germs, ever, and his body temperature was higher than the human norm. Thus, he scoffed at puny Earth snow and hadn't bothered to wrap up warm.

A perfect target, no?

He wasn't paying attention and caught it full in the face.

This may have been the first time he'd ever seen actual snow.

Yes, she was getting sick. It really didn't matter right now because SNOW! Annett saw it blanketing the ground when she looked out her bedroom window this morning. She'd just double up on the NyQuil later.

So, hands shoved in her coat pockets, she was wandering outside, looking for the perfect place to make snow angels.

Sky had been astonished to look out his window upon getting up to see that snow was blanketing everything he saw. Having grown up in California and spending the last 3 years in space, he had never even seen it before. He had heard it was quite fun, but didn't really understand what the point of it was. Fluffy cold white stuff was only good when it was mixed with grape flavoring. Yes. Thankfully, he had thought to get and pack some warm clothing before coming here, and now decided to bundle up, cautiously step outside, and explore.

Splutter, turned out to be the answer. Followed by scrape snow off his face and shoulder, look around for the culprit, grin, and lob it right back at her.

Sky didn't even realize the snowball was headed toward him before it impacted, of course catching him right in the face. He indignantly brushed it off and looked around.

"Hey! Who threw that?" he demanded grumpily.

"Oooomf!" The snowball smacked her in the forehead.

Oh. This was so on! She recognized that Morning! and Annette ducked quickly behind a bush.

"Good morning to you, Ino!" she said and bent to her knees, getting together some quickly made snowballs.

"How are you?" Peeking over the bush, she lobbed one towards Ino, hoping for smacking-success!

"Oh, no fair!" he returned, laughing and gathering up another snowball. "And morning to you too."

Her snowball just barely brushed her shoulder and Annette lobbed two more, quickly at Ino. "Me too!" Even though she felt like the beginning of death.

"I rule at snowball fights! I think you should know that!" Giggling, Annette bent over and started making a pile of them, willing to get anyone who came by. This so reminded her of her field trip and the snowball fight with Mr. Phale and Tori and so many others. Oooh, that had been so much fun!

"You want a war, Ino?" he told her, ducking down, "you got one. And I cheat."

As he proved by charging her with two double-handfuls of snow.

"I've got... snowball training!" She laughed. "There are rules of... engagement here!" Ino's snowball plopped on Annette's head and it ran cold and wet down the back of her coat. "Oooh!"

Scooping up an armful of snowballs, Annette moved from behind her bush and slowly began to creep forward, throwing one at a time where she thought Ino was hiding.

"Try and stop me", he challenged, joining the laughter, and then caught up to her and put snow down her neck. But not too much - the rest just got dropped on her.

This time, Sky saw it coming and tried to throw up a force field, but it was too fast; instead he rather clumsily dodged (taking the hit on his shoulder instead) and looked at Ino, scowling a little.

"Stop that," he said. "Is this all snow is good for? Throwing at people?"
