Second Floor Common Room, Saturday Evening

Valentine had woken up this morning feeling terrible. So, oddly enough, he had no trouble rolling over and sleeping through the entire day.

And his dreams during the course of the day were insane, even by the standards of one such as himself. And when he had roused himself again, he felt welling up within him the oddest combination of cranky, giddy, and creative.

Which was why Valentine was now posing as Star Director Ricardo Valenteen once more, steadfastly building a pillowfort in the hopes that he could get someone to SMASH IT TO BITS FOR HIM. It was cathartic. And Fandom Chicken Four was screaming to be made.

Even if the thought of smashing the fort to pieces made him a little weepy. You'd have to excuse him. He'd need a tissue. And a non-whip low-fat soy... hot chocolate.

This will, as usual, be broken up into its component scenes as DIVINE INSPIRATION hits. Even if I feel useless and bloated and achey and I want to RIP UP THE SCRIPT. RIP IT UP.

... Because Fandom Chicken needs organization, or something?

"Please explain again," said Valenteen's fabulous girlfriend, who hated her life especially today, "what the plot is supposed to be?"

"I was thinking perhaps something with strawberries. And fish. And chocolate," Valenteen mused, tapping a finger to his chin thoughtfully. "And then somewhere in there, something has to explode or be hit by a bus, and then..." Then.

He couldn't think of anything else. His well of inspiration had run dry! It was the end of the world, clearly, and he hated everything and he'd have to blow his nose on his sleeve. One moment.

"Then something else or other. I'm sure."

"Later, when you're yourself again," Naminé observed, getting out her sketchpad, "I should like for you to remember this, and how very pleasant I'm being about it. And be terribly apologetic indeed."

Sokka looked around the room, and recognized what was about to happen. "I'm not going for lattes," he pouted. "Get 'em yourself."

"I never apologize!" Valentine's sniffles gave way into a moment of righteous fury, which was interrupted by a tight knot in his back that he had to stretch to relieve himself of. Again, one moment.

... Not much better. The world was a horrible place. He hated everything. He was going to pout now. "You aren't going to help?

"No, indeed," Naminé said lightly. "I shall be sitting over here, wishing that I had a videocamera of some sort."

Valentine pouted right back. "After I've gone through the trouble to build the set without you? You're terribly, horribly unfair," he sniffed, indignantly. "And besides, latte is so very Fandom Chicken Three. I require Hot Chocolate. Or just chocolate, perhaps. Heated."

He was being perfectly reasonable, here. Why was everything else in the world being so dreadfully difficult?

"I'm certain there is a camera somewhere to be had," Valentine mused. "Perhaps I ought to hire someone with a camera to actually film this with..."

Oh. Yes. Film required a cameraman. Wow. Score one for Valentine stupid. Stupid stupid stupid pointless worthless blah.

He was going to pout now.

"Dress rehearsals can start before the camera arrives," Naminé noted, clearly unaware of how Fandom Chicken went down. "And for later, when you are yourself again, I would like for you to remember that you've been like this all day, that we haven't been on a proper date in ages, and that my favorite colors are blue and white. In case you should be shopping, for whatever reason."

"Oh, good," Naminé observed. "It's you as well. I should hate to think it was only Valentine that was being irrational and irritable. Particularly if you're all to stand around while I draw."

Valentine was going to continue to pout. Yes, yes, he'd take her for a date, and it would be wonderful and grand except that he was busy feeling sorry for himself, as he still didn't have a cameraman. Or a script. But he knew most certainly that the script had to include chocolate and things blowing up.

"Who needs to rehears," he pouted, "when one has sheer brilliance to support their art?"

He astounded himself sometimes with how beautiful his words were. He was going to be needing another moment. Just a wee one.

Poor Jen. Poor, unsuspecting Jen, wandering into the second floor common room in search of cookies, or some kind of junk food that she didn't have to get out of the vending machines since she didn't have the money anyway . . .

"YOU!" Valentine pointed at the unsuspecting victim instantly. "YOU'RE PERFECT."

No, he wasn't going to clarify. Brilliance needed a moment to percolate, here.

"Ah, yes, of course," Naminé nodded. "I was forgetting that. Your art. You've only spent approximately two hours of today explaining to me that I don't understand or appreciate your art."

Jen froze in her tracks and stared at the odd masked boy. "As pickup lines go, I've heard subtler, you know."

"You can't draw me like this!" Sokka protested. "My hair's a MESS!!!"

He cocked his head, glared at her, and added "...And I'm NOT BEING IRRITABLE!!!!"

Sokka nodded. Chocolate sounded SO GOOD right now. "Me, too. Someone should go get some!!!"

"It's a brilliant thing, Fandom Chicken. It won me an award, you know." Yes, this was one of the points that he had brought up repeatedly in that two-hour stretch. It was worth being brought up again, because he was amazing and wonderful and brilliant and she was being completely and entirely unfair and he was going to pout at her some more.

"Meanie."

Valentine crossed his arms, clearly unimpressed.

"That's your job, you know."

"I'm not picking you up," Valentine said. He was now confused and grumpy and brilliant. A dangerous combination, of course. "I'm casting you. You'll be perfect in my feature film, Fandom Chicken Four-- I'm not certain what the subtitle will be yet. Perhaps something about chocolate and tea."
