Flag Football Tryouts, Gym, Sunday afternoon

Those who arrived at the gym for flag football tryouts would find Willow there, complete with blue hat, clipboard, and a whistle. She waved when there seemed to be a good enough crowd to start.

"Hi everybody!" Willow said. "In case you don't know me, I'm Willow Rosenberg, captain of the bestest team here at Fandom High, which is also known as the Blue team. John is captain of the sadly penultimate team, which would be Gold. Try not to mock them too openly for not being as great as Blue is.

"Today is tryouts for new students," Willow continued. "Or old students who didn't try out before. Or medium-time length students who possibly fell into an alternate dimension when they should've been devoting themselves to football skills. Which around here is entirely possible. Either way if you aren't on one of the teams and would like to be, this is the place for you!

"We've got a few areas set to tryout. John and I will be watching you and judging your every move to see if you are worthy of flag football so, you know, no pressure or anything.

"Those who are already on teams don't have to try out again, but you're welcome to help the newbies, or just watch, or even make suggestions as to who might make a good teammate. John and I will be over there if anyone wants to talk.

"And remember that this is all in good fun, except when we're trouncing the Gold team in which case we're out for the strictly metaphorical kill. Don't forget to hydrate and warm up and say please and thank you when appropriate or just 'get out of my way, fool!' when that's what the situation calls for. Also feel free to apply a different insult if 'fool' isn't really working for you.

"So, um, yeah. Good luck and Go Gremlins!" Willow did a fist pump to encourage everyone, then went over to where she was going to watch the tryouts.

[ooc: OCD a-coming is up! Have fun!]

Mel leaned back against the wall and watched the try-outs.

Mostly because she was hoping someone would get hit in the face with a ball.

Because that's always fun to watch.

Sokka was, of course, there to cheer on the newbies. And help decide who was on his team, whether Willow wanted said help or not. And possibly to try yet again to tackle Chad, if he showed up.

"WOOO! GO BLUE!!!"

Sokka gave Mel a friendly punch in the shoulder. "You here to try out? Or are you already on a team? I can't remember."

After enjoying a few muffins, Turtle headed down to the gym to support her investment and see what sort of new life was going to be breathed into the football teams, especially the gold.

Turtle arched an eyebrow when she caught Sokka's cheer. Hmm. She hadn't thought about that when she hired him, that he was a part of the team that wasn't the one Turtle & Canary was sponsoring. That could be...problematic.

No, she didn't know how but it could be. She had to have an awareness for this sort of thing, after all.

John was off to the side, hoping the new kids would understand the flag bit better than the other members of the teams.

Brooke thought if there was any possibility she might end up on the cheerleading squad (and really, come on), she might as well check out the local sports teams. And appreciate.

Intrigued to see who might try-out, Chad took a seat in the stands, somewhere near the top so that he didn't accidentally block anyone else. As if there was going to be enough people to fill the bleachers in the first place.

Lucas Scott

Lucas had been annoyed to hear there was football but no basketball. Still, the drills would help keep him in shape. He stretched out properly before tryouts.

Lucas moved quickly through the tires. He was finding this tryout a lot easier than some of the paces Whitey liked to put them through back home. And he appreciated it.

Lucas had no experience throwing footballs or pillows, but he didn't think he could do too badly.

Lucas waited for a partner and wondered how there could be football without tackling.

"I'm not much of a team player," Mel said with a shrug. "So I thought I'd just watch other people sweat."

Jack managed to run through the tires without falling. He wasn't going to set any speed records, though.

It was kind of hard to put a spiral on a pillow. Jack gave it his best shot.

Jack nodded at the other guy. Potential flag partner?
