Third Floor Common Room - MorningishMidday

Liir'd been up since sunrise, as per usual, only today (as he had no class) he'd taken over the third floor common room's kitchen for a few things. He had cookies to make for Karal (he'd decided on a slightly modified version of Lurline's Tears to be festive for the holiday), treats for Miss Lulu (he'd found the recipe through that googly thing Professor Beaubier had shown him), some of the chocolate hazelnut cookies for Ino, and another batch of summer ice (this time with lemon and rosewater since Professor Ambrose obviously had no like for papay fruit for the moment) so that he could write down the recipe to give to Miss Lulu. In between all of the sugar, however, there was a pot of beef stew, made as he had at Kiamo Ko though with a few substitutions. Or possibly not. The names had been different but even just between Professor Ambrose's and his time there were differences in name for the same thing.

All in all, the common room probably smelled of sugar, strange fruits, and slowly cooking spiced beef.

Liir was rather pleased with himself.

[ooc: open as common rooms are with a variety of food and treats available]

Cassandra still thought that four hours of sleep a night constituted 'sleeping in', so she'd been up for quite a few hours when she wandered into the common room. Morning katas and a long free-run meant she was hungry too.

She sniffed appreciatively as she walked in.

She shrugged as she let herself drift across the room toward Liir. She'd said she would come, after all.

"And I can learn the difference from the way they taste?"

"Okay then." She decided to try one of each cookie and slowly chewed on each in turn.

She frowned, pondering. "Which is which?"

Cassandra carefully unwrapped the cookie and took a bite. "It tastes different." Though whether she meant more than that it was a different kind of cookie wasn't clear.

She examined the cookie carefully before holding up one of the ones Liir had made. "It's not just that they're different types?"

"Oh," Cassandra blinked. "That makes sense." Body language metaphors always help.

"The... ice?"

[identity profile] iseewhatyoumean.livejournal.com 2008-02-13 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh." Cassandra wasn't entirely sure what a sweetmeat was, but it had the word sweet in it so... "Sounds good."

Cassandra offered a shrug. "That's okay." She did, after all, have cookies.

She shook her head. "Yesterday."

She shook her head to indicate she didn't mind and held up two fingers.

"Computers," Cassandra answered quietly. "It's hard for me to keep up with too many at once."
