The Gym, Friday Morning

Teyla's finals were over, and none of them had been as frightening as some of the ones from last semester had sounded. That deserved a bit of celebrating, which to Teyla translated to time in the gym, working through her paces with her sticks. It felt good to practice, and it wasn't long before she fell into a steady rhythm and blocked everything else out.

Jamie was done with his exams and needed to blow off some steam from the past week. However instead of immediately heading toward the punching bag he got distracted by whole stick fighting thing.

The outfit didn't help with his concentration either.

Teyla was so caught up in her own thoughts that it took her a minute to realize there was someone else in the gym. When she spotted him, she gave him an embarrassed smile.

"Hi," Jamie said returning the grin. "What is that? A form of Escrima?"

"I have not heard of Escrima," Teyla admitted. "But it is certainly possible that they are similar."

"It's a form of martial arts that uses sticks as a weapon," Jamie replied. "Unless you're just doing some crazy dance prep for prom tonight."

Teyla laughed. "No, I was practicing martial arts, which I hopefully will not need to use tonight."

"Well if you wear that outfit to the dance, I'd recommend keeping the sticks for protection," Jamie joked.
