Virgo campfire, Tuesday afternoon

Brooke went ahead and got supplies for s'mores, figuring if she was going to do a campfire, she might as well do it right, right? And it helped when the weather cooperated.

Not that the s'mores really worked if you were ignoring the graham crackers to occasionally snack on the chocolate and marshmallows just like that, but look, it was the thought that counted.

Kaylee was out wandering, and broke into a smile. "Hi Jaina! Are you gonna burn marshmallows? I mean, um, toast them?"

Brooke sighed. "At least you're just the first," she said. "I'm Brooke. Jaina's the wannabe."

Kaylee looked confused. "...twins?"

"God, no," Brooke said, horrified at the idea. "She just had my face. I'm the better dresser. And prettier."

"You got more stuff on your face," Kaylee noticed, nodding. "You do look kinda different. But you ain't related at all? I didn't know that happened."

"Yeah, apparently it's a thing here or something. I mean, if you're going to look like me, at least work it, you know?" she complained.

"Sure!" Kaylee agreed, though she wasn't rightly sure what was being worked, exactly. "Well, I'm Kaylee. Nice t'meet you."

"You too," she said, though she was still internally grumbling as she did every time she got mistaken for the other one. "So you're just looking for campfires?"

"I was bored, like," Kaylee said, shrugging and flopping down. "An' last time I was at my own campfire, I set a bunch of those marshmallow things on fire."

Lee wandered out of his cabin and said, "This your dinner?"

"On purpose?" Had to check here.

"Well, since no one's springing for taking me to Ching Tai or something, yes," she said, offering a marshmallow.

"Aww, if I wasn't so lazy, I'd offer," Lee said, taking the offered marshmallow and saluting her with it. "You could have it delivered."

Kaylee shook her head. "I'm gettin' better at it, though!" she added cheerfully, like marshmallow-roasting was a marketable skill or something.

"Not nearly as classy," said she was eating marshmallows out of the bag.

"Just blackening them now?" she wondered, smiling a little.

Kaylee didn't want to admit that. "Just dark brown! So I guess you must be from 'round here? Earth, I mean?"

"You're eating marshmallows out of the bag," Lee pointed out. "That's class, right there."

"That sounds a lot like judgment," she said lightly.

"Yeah. And you know that's never going to stop being a weird question?" Brooke said. "I sort of assume everyone is. Call it habit."

Kaylee nodded reassuringly. "S'okay, I used to assume that no one was."

Brooke tilted her head at her. "Are you a space person?"

"Yes, I'm judging you, Brooke," Lee said. "I'm building impressions about you based on your marshmallow eating ways."

Huh. "You're just a little double whammy, aren't you?" said Brooke, offering the bag of marshmallows to her.
