Little Dipper Campfire: Friday Afternoon

For Worf, a field trip to the mainland was not an experience he'd like to go through.

So instead he was using the nice weather to practice the mok'bara out by the campfire in what he hoped would be a quiet day.

[And while Worf may not want to be disturbed the post is definitely open]

He was walking to his cabin after work when he noticed the strange... huh. What would he call it?

He stopped and, much like the gawky clueless boy he was, watched.

He shook his head mutely, continuing to watch out of curiosity without a thought for rudeness.

After a moment, he sat down. And continued to watch.

He got up and moved a little closer.

Then, finally, he thought to ask:

"Do you mind? If I watch what you're doing?"

"What is it you're doing? If you don't mind me asking questions."

Since he'd gotten an idea from the first repetition. He'd learn more on the second go round if he repeated the same.

"Oh. My apologies."

He shut up and went back to watching.

He got up and wandered, carefully, over to sit at the fire.

"May I?" he asked.

"Would you care for something to eat? I have, um, a couple of brownies that weren't eaten at work. Nothing to drink, I'm afraid."

"You're welcome," he said with a nod as he put the things back away in his bag.

"Are you in one of my classes?"

It was polite fiction, the question: an opening should he like to talk that could be easily enough turned down.

"I do," he admitted. "For one, it can make an awkward situation less awkward. For another, it's very distracting if such is needed. And lastly, it's very useful should you find yourself someplace unexpectedly to have some supplies with you."

Beat.

"Also, I like to cook and bake, so I usually have it there to see if what I came up with tastes good."

[identity profile] new-to-liirness.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"Do you have a moral objection to baked goods?" he asked with an exceedingly arch look.

"Good," and he rolled his shoulder once before looking to the fire.

"Would you object to questions on what you were doing earlier now?"

[identity profile] new-to-liirness.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
He turned and looked at him, just a touch confused.

"I 'must' do nothing, at least at the moment. If you'd rather not discuss it, 'I'd rather not discuss it' is a perfectly reasonable response."
