3rd Floor Common Room: Sunday night [6-8-08]

Lana had gotten a tad too much sun yesterday so she'd spent most of today in her room. However, now she was feeling the need to get out a little, so she'd made a batch of popcorn and was curled up on the couch hoping to find something interesting to watch. Several of the tiny little monkeys were curled up with her. They were surprisingly good company.

"Those monkeys look pretty cozy," Luke said, settling into a chair.

Ino wasn't entirely looking for Lana, not really but there was a bit of that in her reasons for wandering down to third floor.

"You know," she said off-handedly, heading for the cupboards and looking for granola bars, "it'd be a pretty paltry friendship if I needed apologies when you were just speaking your mind."

"Hey!" she said smiling brightly at him. "How are you? And yes, yes, they are. I'm told I'm pretty good to snuggle with."

"Still nice to offer them, just in case," Lana said with a quiet smile. "Keeps friendships strong."

"Maybe," Ino said dubiously. Where were the granola bars? "But I'd think, really, that an apology for something like that is still on the low side of being needed."

Aha! Victory! Ino tugged a box of chocolate chip granola bars out of the cupboard and snagged two of them then glanced at Lana. "Want one?"

"I can attest to that," he agreed. "I'm kinda whatever lately. What's it like being a graduate?"

Lana held up the popcorn. "Got this instead, but thanks."

"And... better safe than sorry?"

Ino made a bit of a face at the popcorn. So not want she wanted tonight.

"Suit yourself! More for me!" Not that she was planning to eat more than the two she'd already taken out, but whatever. Hush.

"...possibly," Ino noted. "Though I'm pretty sure I'd be bad at that way of thinking." Just a bit.

She smiled at him. "Good to know. You're welcome to repeat the experience whenever."

"Being a graduate..." she let out a deep breath. "It's exciting and boring and nerve-wracking. It's weird still being here and not taking classes. And I'm both excited and terrified about going off to college. Another new place, no one I know... And I'm not the best at making friends."

"I hear that," Lucas replied. "It can be tough to get out there and meet people. I need to practice myself."

Lana laughed. "Two more ways we're different. Yay to diversity and still being friends!"

Lana nodded. "Guess it's sink or swim once I get there," she said. "I mean, I suppose if I go back to Smallville, Lex would take me in, but I don't have a home or family there anymore, so I'm kind of on my own."

"Yay indeed," Ino said, wandering over to the couch. "Because it'd be terribly boring if we all agreed all the time."

"Definitely," Lana agreed. "So... how are you doing?"

"Detention yesterday involved mud," she said, not really answering the question. "And then a really crazy long shower. You?"

"No detention. Can alumni even get detention?" she wondered. "Spent the day sunning on the island. It was really lovely."

"I bet they can, if they do something actually bad maybe?" Ino offered, nibbling on her first granola bar. "But the random detention? Maybe not? I don't really know. And, I'd pout, but it was actually fun mud-falling and all."

"I bet," Lana said. "I didn't like mine all that much when I had them, but this sounds more fun."

Feeling a bit more prone to restlessness lately, even with all sorts of friendly little monkeys to play with, Chad and Prince Oscar Pedro and went to the common room to see what's up.

"What's up?" he asked.

Prince Oscar Pedro, from one shoulder, meowed.

A small flock of albino monkeys on the other shoulder also chittered a greeting

Ino wrinkled her nose cheerfully. "We got to climb up rope ladders and then over a rope bridge, only that's when Ella misstepped and she tugged me down too."

"Hey Chad," Lana said with a smile. "Just... trying to find something not terrible to watch."

"Oooh, yeah, that could be not good," Lana agreed.

Peter much like his mun was enjoying air conditioning today so a night out defined as 'staying in and watching TV' suited him just fine. He hunted around for an occupied common room, and wandered in. "Hey."

"Hey," Lana said with a smile, dislodging a couple of monkeys to be able to wave. "Come on in. Popcorn?"

"I'm still wishing that we'd fallen into the pudding instead of the mud," Ino said. "Because at least that would've been edible."
