Huggable Kitten campfire, Saturday night

Peter's mun hadn't been kidnapped by family tonight had an urge to watch the Olympics. He also had an urge for company. Finally, he had an urge to not be eaten alive by any of the disgusting creepy-crawlies going around the island.

Ergo: outdoors, with wifi and laptop taking care of the show, and a big ol' fire to hopefully keep the crawlies away. (Or at least provide a handy weapon if they came by.

Hannibal tip toed his way over to someone who was brave enough to come outside and, if he was brave enough, Hannibal could be brave enough too.

He'd just hope the other guy would sacrifice himself to the insects.

"Insects leaving you alone?" he asked as he wandered up.

"Don't jinx it," Peter said. "So far the fire's scaring them but I'm not putting all my confidence into it. They could be waiting to pounce."

"I had to tiptoe through them," he said, making a face. "The brochure didn't include possible random insect infestations."

"It's not the norm," Peter said. "Hopefully it's not the start of a weeks-long trend."

"Yeah, I can agree with that," he said, taking a seat. "You out here doing homework on a weekend?"

"Ha, no way." Peter angled his laptop so the screen was easier to see. "Olympics. At the moment? Women's beach volleyball."

"Ooooh." He leaned closer, obviously interested. "I think I would like to learn volleyball from them."

"This just happened to be the sport that was on, I swear," Peter said. Not that he minded the view...

"You have good timing," Hannibal told him. "I approve verily. It makes me wanna take up volleyball."

"They're very... inspiring," Peter agreed. Because he wasn't blind.

"Yep." He was kind of transfixed. "I think I'm in love."

"I think the announcer said they were married," Peter said. Like that mattered.

"I can be a mistress," he said, nodding. "Mister? Is there even a word for it?"

"Boytoy?" Peter suggested.

"Mmm, I can be a boytoy as long as I get to watch them play volleyball all the time," he said, nodding. "And hey, private lesson or two or fifty wouldn't hurt."

"I wonder if the guys play shirtless," Peter maused aloud. Since frankly if he had to be forced to watch that too... well darn.

"Maybe?" He was still stuck on girls. "I mean, if it gets hot enough, I'd take mine off."

"Me too," Peter agreed. "And it's supposed to be really hot there."

"If only the girls would take the shirts off too," he said, sighing.

"You realize that by all rights of chivalry I'm now required to let the bugs get you if they come?" Peter asked.

"Like you wouldn't look too," Hannibal said.

"I didn't say so out loud," Peter said. That was his moral high ground and he was sticking to it.

"Thinking it counts!" Hannibal decided.

"I'm still required to throw you to the spiders," Peter told him. "It's in the rule book."

"And I'm allowed to fight you," Hannibal said. "Guys don't wimp out either."

"Understood," Peter said. "Anyway, looks like you might be in luck. We're up to swimming now."

"I'd never shave my body even for a gold medal," Hannibal decided.

"I wonder if they have to shave now that they have those full-body suits," Peter mused aloud, since he had no idea.

"And goddamn, I bet those things cling," he said, wincing.

"I wonder if they have to powder down to even get them on," Peter said. "Yanno, like latex?"

And Hannibal winced again.

"Imagine having that job," he said. "Helping some swimmer get into his suit without your hand getting stuck in there."

"That... could have pluses and minuses," Peter said, mulling it over. "Depending on you and depending on the swimmer."

"Maybe." Hannibal considered it. "I think it'd depend on...where you got stuck."

"I can see your point," Peter said, "but if I'm getting that up close with somebody I'd need to insist on making sure it was a somebody I didn't mind - and vice versa."

"Agreed." He peered back at the computer. "You have aspirations to be a professional bathing suit helper?"

"Not for a career," Peter said, deadpan.

"You work in swimming, I'll do beach volleyball and hey, we could split the cost!" Hannibal said excitedly.

Hannibal peered back at the screen. "Yeah, I still wouldn't shave my body. It'd get cold."
