Main Campfire, Monday, After Classes

Sometimes, being a TA rocked.

Other times, Reno ended up standing at a campfire in a black tutu, cute ribbons, and mime make-up, absolutely certain that he hadn't had nearly enough alcohol to be able to do this without crawling under something to die, afterward.

Perhaps surprisingly, getting the tutu had been the easy part. Being a Turk meant that he had connections... well. Everywhere. Ones that tended not to ask questions.

Look! He was in a box! An invisible box! And he could not get out! And he hated you all!

The timer on his phone went off, and he broke into a loud, rousing chorus of I'm a Little Teapot, complete with hand-actions, before he went back into shock-silent mime mode again. Still in that box. Still hating you all.

Marcel Marceau would be rolling over in his grave, right about then.

Gwen had meant to wait a couple of days before starting a water-gun fight like Reno has told her to (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/1845294.html?thread=115141166#t115141166), but, well, mime. You couldn't blame her for taking advantage of an opportunity, could you?

Which was why a water balloon was gracefully flying through the air towards Reno.

Yep. Reno totally deserved that.

And now he was a soggy mime with runny make-up.

It took great, great effort for him to be able to restrain himself from yelling. He was a mime, after all. Mimes didn't do that sort of thing.

Instead, he decided that it would be a better idea to mime a machete. Stabby motions! Stabby motions of frustrated, soggy rage!

Romeo was just going to stand there and laugh at Reno hating them all.

And possibly hold Dojima over his head so she got a better view.

Could rabbits laugh, too? She was making a good attempt at it.

Gwen was very um, intimidated, yes, by the stabby motions, really.

Ignore the giggling.

Reno was about to mime out very elaborately how he was going to tie Romeo and Dojima both down and then stuff them both into tutus as well.

Except the timer went off. Again.

"I'M A LITTLE TEAPOT-" Who hates you alllll~

The stabby motions usually worked. Really.

Just, typically not while Reno was decked out in a tutu with cute ribbons.

Which was why the stabby motions totally turned into hacking at invisible foliage. Jungle. He was in a jungl- Ding. Stupid timer, anyhow.

"I'm a little teapot, short and stout," he announced. You could tell he was enjoying himself by how the parts of his face where the make-up had washed off were nearly as red as his hair.

Well, tea needed water didn't it, Gwen asked herself, aiming her super-soaker at Reno.

"Here is my handle," he sang in protest, acting out the motions. "And here is my spout."

Tea really did need water. Reno wasn't nearly steeped enough, sadly.

Gwen was more than happy to help Reno with as much water as he needed to steep full. She was generous like that.

Dojima kicked impatiently at Romeo's shoulder. Red was embarrassing himself! Didn't Romeo have a camera? He was useless.

"Patience," murmured Romeo, who did have a camera on his phone, as he had an idea. Gravely, he held the rabbit out to the little teapot, short and stout, mouthing, "Dojima."

Reno was now plenty steeped. And so very appreciative.

Really.

He finished the song, wrung out his tutu, and then decided now was really just as good a time as any other to work on an, 'oh look, it's raining out,' routine.

Pleasantly. With a very strained smile.

Reno's 'handle and spout' lines were nearly lost to the inevitable bubbling up of laughter.

Well, actually, they were. But he hadn't finished the song get, so he was allowed to vocalize, so far as he was concerned. Just so long as he kept the singsong. Maybe.

"That's really Doji?~ You're shittin' me."

See. That was close enough to cover for the lack of handle and spout, wasn't it?

Good thing Gwen had more than one water balloon then. For veracity's sake.

Tut, tut. It looked like real freakin' huge raindrops.

Imagine that?

Reno was a mime, dammit. And a Turk. And this was kind of like a bet. And that was why he was going to stick this through, even if he did look uncannily like a drowned rat.

Time to pull out the invisible umbrella. Because that would totally help.

Yeah, that would be Ino bursting into giggles as she stared wide-eyed at what Reno was doing.

On the bright side, Gwen was looking to be too overcome with giggles by the time Reno could stop being a mime to be in any position to prepare for any sort of revenge.

Not that that helped Reno and his invisible umbrella much in the here and now.

"Since Friday -- didn't Rikku tell you?" Romeo supplied.

Though, Romeo reflected, perhaps Rikku wouldn't have. She would have felt like she had to explain exactly how she discovered Dojima's unfortunate condition, and that would have lead to amounts of flailing that would risk life and limb.

"Do you want to hold her?"

Reno should ignore how Romeo's fingers were already in his pocket reaching for his phone. Really.

As it turned out, invisible umbrellas were pretty damn useless. Which was why Reno was now resorting to hunting down an invisible bus shelter, or something.

Goodness knows why there wasn't a functional invisible bus shelter at a campfire on an island which had no buses, really.

Gwen felt Reno's lack of invisible bus shelter pain deeply, truly, and keenly. When she wasn't throwing more water balloons at him, that is.

Reno shook his head in response to the first question, and then decided, to hell with it, if he was going to humiliate himself in a tutu, there might as well be a bunny involved, too.

"I guess it couldn't hurt none, hand her here, but if she's a biter, so help me..."

And that's where that particular threat was going to have to stop, because he had just run out of lyric, and was on his mime-timer again. He held out his hands to take the rabbit that happened to be Doji.

Hey. An invisible bicycle. If only those stupid things were actually functional, Reno would just get onto it and ride the hell out of there.

Instead, he managed to fail terribly at ignoring the giggling and the staring.

Reno was redder than ever before. And he still couldn't get onto the damn fake bike.

Being a mime, he decided, was freaking stupid.

It was a very, very soggy Reno that decided, if this was her water-fight destiny, he had really brought it upon himself anyhow.

This was why his search for an invisible bus shelter had led to him stumbling across an invisible fire hose.

If he couldn't retaliate, then at the very least, he could pretend to!

It was utterly priceless to be watching though.

Ino's giggles didn't stop, but she did call out, "Your face is getting to be as red as your hair, you know."

Dojima looked innocent. Her, a biter? When her boyfriend was right here? Never. She nuzzled at Reno's fingers just in case he might have a treat for her.

As soon as the rabbit transfer was accomplished, Romeo's camera phone was out. Click. Yes, he knew they would both have cause to kill him later, but his turn would come soon enough.

Reno couldn't dignify that with a vocal reply. Sadly.

Which was why he dignified it with the finger and a raspberry, instead. He figured that would get the message across just as well.

Besides, he fully admitted that he looked like an idiot, himself. And the giggles from everyone that went by were contagious, even if they were freaking humiliating.

So the finger-raspberry combo happened with a bit of a smirk on his face. Damn it anyhow.
