Third Floor Common Room, Sunday Evening

Technically speaking, Firekeeper knew how to cook. Of course, her idea of 'cooking' involved grilling meat over a fire for as little time as possible, something that wasn't exactly possible indoors.

She'd seen others get food from the cupboards in the small kitchen area in the common room before, though. The only problem was that almost none of it was any sort of food she was familiar with. Well, there had been the fermented-grains drink she'd used to try and entice the skunk away from Jan, but she wasn't touching that.

She was investigating just about everything else, though, which is why there was a table in the common room spread with an array of snack foods, and a very curious wolf-girl thoughtfully nibbling away.

Blind Seer wasn't so much interested in the food as he was Firekeeper's various reactions to it, and was sprawled on a couch where he could watch.

[ooc: open like a room that is common!]

Ella had spent most of the weekend quietly, but by Sunday night she was ready to be social again. She wandered into the common room and noticed the girl with the wolf who she'd seen in ethics class; the creature made her a little nervous, though he seemed tame enough.

Still, her "Hello, what are you eating?" was a little tentative.

Hankering for a bit of a late night snack himself, especially since Prince Oscar Pedro had fallen asleep on his stomach earlier so that he couldn't get up for dinner, Chad drifted toward the common room, hairless cat in tow sleepily behind him.

Prince Oscar Pedro's already buggy eyes widened as soon as he crossed the threshold and saw the wolf spread out on the couch and promptly turned tail, in as dignified a manner as possible, and headed back the way he came. Chad, confused, looked back toward the hall after his cat, but decided that, whatever it was, maybe Prince Oscar Pedro wasn't feeling socialable after his nap. He shrugged, and continued as he was.

"Are you having a snack party in here, or something?" he had to ask, noting all of the food.

"They have those at the diner too," Ella said helpfully, inspecting the disc. "Potato chips. They are almost all salt, but they're not bad."

"A snack party," Chad repeated, and nodded to the table. "That's a lot of food for one person."

Although Chad was thinking that he could easily put it all away himself, but he had a lot of himself to feed.

"They don't, do they?" Ella agreed hoping she hadn't improperly snack-modded. "And sometimes they have flavorings on them, like barbecue or cheese, and then they taste even less of potato. I don't know how they're made; we don't have them in my home."

Sam peeked into the common room when he caught a glimpse of someone inside, and smiled when he realized who it was. "Hey," he said. "I see you found the good stuff."

Chad gave Ella a bit of a nod and a grunt in greeting.

Chad's head tilted just slightly at the girl's peculiar way of speaking, but he shrugged again. "Could have a party for anything, if you wanted," he pointed out. "I'm Chad, by the way. You new?"

Ella matched the nod, though not the grunt. "Hello! Did youhave a good weekend?"

Peyton was sick of being in her room, so she headed into the common room and, woah, there was the girl with the wolf. "Hey," she said a little awakwardly, "How's it going?"

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Pretty uneventful," Chad admitted. "But that's not a bad thing around here. You?"

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Nice to meet you, Blysse," Chad said, nodding back again, before the girl's words really caught up with him.

"Humans?" he asked. "Are you not human, then?"

She certainly looked human. But Chad, of all people, knew better than to think that meant anything.

"I like those cookies," Ella reported, examining the collection of snacks. "They're chocolate, and the filling in the middle is almost pure sugar."

"Same," she said, frowning a little. "I don't know where it went, really. You wouldn't think working once a week would be so exhausting."

[identity profile] senor-chado.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
"I knew a guy who had a wolf's head before," Chad offered, feeling it was the only logical path for the conversation to take.

There was the faintest of a grin at that. "I work twice a week, so, yeah. Plus, been training some new kids for the store, which has been nice. You work at the diner, right?"
