Fourth Floor Common Room, Wednesday Evening

There were things to think about and plans to make after some conversations last night and Hannibal felt a little cooped up and restless in his own room so he grabbed a pillow and headed down to the common room.

There wasn't any made up games tonight. Just a boy, a pillow, a movie that he wasn't really watching, a notepad of scribbled notes (that he can't believe he's actually taking) and a pizza on the floor in front of him.

He just hoped he could read his notes (silly and unnecessary as they were) since he was staining the paper with pizza from his fingers.

When Lois had something to say she had the bad habit of dumping it on the first person she saw. There had been no one available on her floor so she had been going down to each common room to find someone to talk to.

"So," Lois flopped into an arm chair. "There are candles all over my room. I know what you're thinking, it's a romantic gesture, it's what I was thinking too. But after a half an hour and no hot guy surprising me I realized that the candles showed up themselves. And worse? They won't go out. They're like the obnoxious trick ones."

This was the third night in a row Cal had meandered down to the common room. Either this was simply what happened to a boy when he no longer had a girlfriend, or it was habit-forming. He really hoped it wasn't the second one, because he'd much rather be smoking.

"Are you taking notes on a movie outside of a class?"

"Oh you don't need to go that far. I've gotten to the point where I'd consider a free bag of Doritos a romantic gesture," Lois joked.

"Recreational notes on what?" Cal asked, but he wasn't sure he wanted to know if it was causing spontaneous geekness.

He had enough of that, thanks.

"Oh wow. You're are smooth, sir," Lois said, grabbing a hold of the pizza box and taking a slice. "This is even better than Doritos."

Amber shuffled in in her slippers and flannel pajamas. "Hey, Hannibal," she murmured, heading to the fridge to get a can of root beer.

"Nothing. Thirsty," she said, popping the top and heading over towards him, just shuffling slowly. "What you up to?"

"Oh I definitely have," she said, nodding. "You've swept me off my feet."

"Wow. I've been a nerd my whole life then, considering," she said, grinning at him as she settled down. "Must be important notes."

Cal snorted a slight laugh, dropping down into a chair. "Yeah," he said, "sure."

He couldn't judge any further than that, because everything he wrote like that he simply called 'fiction.'

"Think it's going to help?"

"Even if you did, I'm not sure I'd be able to accept," Lois admitted. "I don't want to come off as a pig. Or a ho."

"Taking notes does not make you one either," she said, brow arched. "Unless you're writing down mathmatical charts or something."

A beat.

"What are you writing down anyway?" she asked, 'cause she's nosey.

"I was just going to say," Cal muttered with a slightly wry grin. "If writing things down was the solution to everything, I'd have the easiest damn life in the world."
