Second floor common room, Wednesday afternoon

Congratulations, second floor common room, you were getting decorated courtesy of Brooke Davis today. Blame it on the weetiny carolers putting her in a Christmassy mood, but she'd gone out and bought a mass of moddable decorations to put up. Maybe if she had stuff left over, she'd take to the stairwells or something.

So that's what Brooke was doing, letting the tiny carolers carol their tiny hearts out. And she'd even taken using mistletoe liberally, not that she was standing under it with anyone she didn't want to.

Angela poked her head in, on the search for anyone else still around.

"Wow. Very festive," she remarked. "Best I did was put up some lights."

"I got inspired," she explained. "So I'm blinging up for Christmas. Wanna help?"

"I am great with a bit of tinsel," Angela promised with a grin at Brooke as she made her way in.

She paused, peering at the carollers a moment. "I guess you didn't have anything to do with them?"

"No, they just showed up," she said, gesturing towards the bags- yes, plural- of decorations if Angela wanted to go through it. "It was annoying at first, but they do a really good version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. It's catchy."

"And they're small enough to be herded away if they start to drive you crazy," she suggested as she went to poke through one of the bags. "Kind of cute, really."

"Yeah, they'll probably get old about the time the Christmas specials start tonight," she said, moving to the doorway of the kitchen to start stringing garland around it. "So you're here for Christmas?"

"I am," Angela confirmed with a nod. "My dad's busy, so... Here I am." Little bit bothered by that, yes. She pulled out a long string of tinsel. "There's a few of us about. Should be fun. You are too?"

"It looks even better'n my room in here," Kaylee said admiringly as she wandered in. "All sparkly an' stuff!"

"Yeah. Though with all the travel issues I keep hearing about this year, that's probably a good thing," she said, shrugging it off. "I probably would have spent all of today and tomorrow at a bus station or something only to have it canceled." Like Brooke would ride the bus.

"Is your room sparkly?" Brooke asked. She'd never heard of a room being described like that before.

"Staying here with friends sounds like the better decision," Angela agreed with a little smile as she wandered to arrange tinsel. "There's bound to be something going on."

"Well, with the lights up and the...shiny stuff," Kaylee said, indicating tinsel. "But this is prettier."

Kaylee had done some decorating earlier in the week.

'Sparkly' was a way to put it.

"Common room on my floor must feel so inadequate," Angela said, shooting the girl a smile over her shoulder as she balanced a piece of holly.

"I know!" Kaylee agreed, grinning. "But maybe someone's decoratin' upstairs too an' we don't even know."

"And if not, well, we make something," she decided, stretching to get to the top of the doorway. "We are smart, enterprising women that way."

"Are you... shined out, or do you want to help?" Brooke asked, waving towards the bags. "There's plenty to do still..."

"I'm never shinied out," Kaylee assured her with remarkable seriousness as she gleefully made a beeline for the tinsel. Shhhhh, she liked shiny things. "Is this always part of Christmas here? All the decoratin'? An' the scary plants?" she added, casting a glance towards the ceiling.

"Ooh, I hope so," she said, obviously picking up on all the festive spirit here. "My roommate and I put lights around our room, but I didn't even think to try and do anything outside of that."

"Uh huh. In a lot of places decorations go up the day after Thanksgiving, and they like, engulf houses," Brooke explained. "And the plants are not scary. They are good plants. If you stand under it with a hot guy, you have an excuse to make out with him, per tradition. See, good plant."

"We certainly are," Anfela agreed with a laugh. "If nothing else, I have enough chocolate coins for a feast of them alone."

"But," Kaylee noted, "a couple weeks they was like, forcin' me to kiss a hot guy. I mean, not that I needed any encouragin', but really." She happily hung some tinsel and noted, "Where I'm from we don't celebrate this much, but I wish we did. It's all so pretty."

"Yeah, I did up my room all shiny but I should've gone out to the common room, too," Kaylee mused. "I mean, I wouldn't want th'other floors t'feel left out."

"There's still time," Angela told her as she started detangling some pieces of mistletoe from each other. "We've got until tomorrow, at least."

"You're a cheerleader, right?" she asked after a beat. Really had to work on actually talking to the people there with her every week.

"Yep!" she said, bouncing just a bit and examining some holly. "I'm Kaylee. Hi!"

"Which would probably lead to stomachaches and dieting but for the time, it's all good," she grinned. Standing when she finished fastening the garland to the doorway, she got some ornaments from one of the bags and began to hang a trio of them from the top.
