Another day, another mopefest.

Razormouth was up on the roof again, in the same corner as yesterday, staring out over the island and pondering all the important questions of life.

Why am I on an island?

Where's Wallflower?

What's the value of pi to thirty-seven digits?

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Does the spearmint lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight?

Sigh. Being a broody superhero was a rough life.

Well, Wallflower could answer at least one of those existential questions, by swooping down from the sky. "There you are!"

Razormouth pulled her mask off, jumped to her feet, and completely destroyed her whole broody vibe by beaming at Wallflower. "There you are!"

"That's what I said!" Wallflower pointed out, coming in for a landing beside her.

"Oh, right. I was busy brooding," Razormouth replied, as if this was a surprise. "Did you find any sky crime?"

"Not really," Wallflower admitted. "There were these two adorable little girls, though!"

"I hadn't noticed," Razormouth said, back to Angsty Brood Time. "I do know a hell of a lot of people around here don't take it into account that people can watch them from rooftops, though."

"They were so cute!" Wallflower went on as if she'd expressed undying interest. "A blonde and a redhead, and they could fly too. I want a bunch of kids just like them someday!"

"Of course they could fly." Yay, more reasons to be bitter. Emphasis on the plural. Sigh.

Wallflower rested her chin on her knees. "What're you mopey about now?"

"What am I not mopey about?" Razormouth replied. "Okay, besides the uptight hero chick in the impractical costume trying to tell me how to do my job."

Not that she was clear on what exactly her job was. Thanks, Cartoonist.

"Was she blonde?" Wallfower asked, making a face. "The ones with the costumes that shouldn't fit but do so the guys all remember them instead of the one that lifted the car off them usually are."

"There were fishnets," Razormouth confirmed with a grimace. "Geez, rub it in about the super strength, will ya?"

"Hey, you have all those ninja flippy divey tricks," Wallflower pointed out. "And you're kind of invulnerable."

Razormouth tilted her head. "Okay, that came in handy yesterday with the falling off the roof."

"You fell off the roof?" Wallflower zoomed into Florence Nightinhero mode. "Are you ok? Did you break anything? Do you need cookies?"

What? They restore strength, energy, and mental well-being.

"See above under mostly invulnerable," Razormouth said dryly. "Nothing damaged except a piece of the lawn."

She peered down at the grounds. "Which is fine now. Huh."

"Looks like this island's pretty good at taking care of itself," Wallflower observed.

"Yeah." Razormouth heaved another sigh of Deep Existential Angst. "So what are we doing here, Wallflower?"

"Sitting on a roof enjoying the view?" Wallflower said practically.

"Oh yeah." Razormouth looked over at her. "At least the company's good."

Wallflower grinned. "It could be worse. Remember that weekend the multiverse got blown up? We were cleaning up inkstains for days.""

"And I was picking pieces of paper out of my (*&@#)$ for weeks, too," Razormouth remembered. "That sucked."

"Shhh..." Wallflower said, giggling. "Those little kids might be around!"

"They'll live, Wallflower," Razormouth said, waving a hand. "They gotta learn about it sometime."

"About getting paper in your (*&@#*$?" Wallflower repeated, except not quite right.

"Pssht, no. They can leave my &(*)@#$ out of it." Razormouth might've elaborated a little there. "But getting paper in there's a real problem anyone could have!"

"Anyone who's not you?" Wallflower giggled.

"Just because it didn't happen to you," Razormouth grumbled.

Wallflower just grinned and nudged Razormouth with her shoulder. "Doof."

"I'm a doof? You're a doof," Razormouth insisted, nudging back.

"That's why we make such a good team!" Wallflower grinned and tucked her hair behind her ears. "...I feel like there was something I was supposed to be doing this weekend that I missed."

"Join the club, Wallflower," Razormouth said. "I feel like there's something missing all the time."

She wasn't too subtle. By some standards.

"Hunh." Wallflower stretched out her legs in front of her, wriggled her toes, and leaned back on her elbows, relaxing. "Even now?" She wasn't too perceptive. By most standards.

"Nah." Razormouth looked over at her and cracked a smile. "Right now, I think I'm feeling pretty complete."
