Salle, Tuesday Afternoon

He'd now passed the point where his arm could in any way be used as an excuse not to train, at least if you weren't looking for one. Arthur wasn't looking for one, and so as soon as his classes were over he retreated to the salle, where he picked a workable practice blade.

Of course, there were other types of training he'd been slowly building back up into, but it was his ability with the sword he wanted to keep sharpest on. He whiled away most of his afternoon running drills, another in a long line of days waiting for the moment he could finally take the bloody bandage off.

It was helping him deal with the useless feeling quite admirably.

Ben trotted into the salle with his lightsaber hilt in hand. "Your highness," he said, nodding his head when he saw who was there.
momslilassassin: (Ben: aren't I cute?)

"My weapon," Ben explained, holding it up. "It's not lit yet."
momslilassassin: (Ben: hello down there)

Ben picked up on the uneasiness, so he wasn't quite as insanely enthusiastic as he normally was when talking about a lightsaber. He nodded. "We call it a lightsaber," he said. "It's not a hugely creative name."

Last night's hunt had reminded her that there were other skills- human ones- that she should keep up with, even if they weren't strictly needed for survival here.

"Arthur," she said with a nod as she moved towards the practice weapons, selecting the one that felt the most similar to the one kept in her weapons locker.

Blind Seer wandered over to an unoccupied corner and curled up to watch the proceedings. Or nap. One of those. His Firekeeper would wake him when she was done with her human pursuits.

Ben nodded and flicked the blade to life with a snap-hiss. It glowed bright blue in front of him. "There," he said.

Firekeeper snorted, inwardly amused at the fact that for once she'd been the one able to recall someone's name. "Is true enough description," she admitted. "But most humans is calling me Blysse."

Ben nodded again and closed down the blade. "There's a crystal inside the hilt," he said, pointing to the tiny screws. "Nothing magical about it."

Ben got a grin and a little wave from Firekeeper. Slightly awkward wave, since she was holding a practice sword, but a wave all the same. "Hello, Ben!"

"He does," she nodded. "Blind Seer, because he have blue eyes."
momslilassassin: (Ben: such a good boy in a bad shirt)

Ben grinned. "There's almost nothing it can't cut through," he said, "so very."

"Hello, Blysse!" Ben said, waving back. "How did your fishing go?"

Firekeeper couldn't help but make a face at the reminder of the class. She liked Minsc well enough, but magic- and transformations in particular- still made her uncomfortable. "Making sure I do not get... out of practice?" she tried the human phrase.

"...You know of that?"

Any sarcasm that might have been present was lost on Firekeeper anyway; she tended to take things literally. "You is thinking so? In class?" she asked thoughtfully.
