Second Floor Common Room [evening]

There are few things more exciting than a BIRTHDAY.

Unless, of course, it was TWO BIRTHDAYS.

Kaylee and Yurika had discovered that it was BOTH their birthdays today, and that was why the common room was decorated, and there was cake!

And by "decorated," one might assume "with glitter and bits of torn up colored paper flung on things, and some misspelled banners stuck to the wall about two feet off the ground."

Children are excellent decorators, you know.

Yes, it's actually both of their birthdays today. Much thanks to

dojima_hime for being insane with me on this.

Emmett had brought both girls a bunch of rocks he found outside. Yeah, they were some pretty awesome rocks.

Emmett couldn't eat cake or anything but that didn't mean he didn't like birthday parties. He was running to and fro the room like the spaz he was, throwing around glitter and the bits of paper that had been around for decoration.

"HI KAYLEE!" Emmett yelled excitedly. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

Ned hopped into the party and brought both girls drawrings he'd made. They were good drawrings. Kaylee's had her in a yellow jacket. And Yurika's was her in a store!

Ned stood off in a corner, watching everyone quietly. He was still kind of caked with mud and he didn't wanna get anyone dirty.

"HI EMMETT!" Kaylee squealed, bounding over to him excitedly. "I'ma BIG GIRL now."

"Happy birfday," Ned said, wandering over and smiling at her.

Kaylee skittered over to fling her arms around him, mud or no. "NED! You gots dirty."

"Lois throwed mud at me," he said, hugging her back. "And I threw it back and she ate some."

She hadn't, he just had scarily good aim.

"Oh yeah? How old are you?" he asked. He doubted she was as old as him.

It was her birthday and Kaylee's birthday and that meant another party. Two birthday parties in one day!

Yurika was, quite possibly, the happiest six-year-old on the island at the moment.

"She eated it?" she asked, her eyes wide.

"Four!" Kaylee said, excitedly splaying four fingers and wiggling them. "I'm big."

"Yep," Ned said, nodding. "Lois is a mud eater. She said she's made of Jello!"

"Happy birfday," Ned said, ever polite. "I like your partee."

Yeah, Emmett was about ninety years older than her. But that didn't stop him from looking excited. He was a spaz, after all.

"That's awesome!" he said. "You're gonna be able to drive a car soon!"

Hannibal wasn't the best gift giver even while big. So, those two clumps of mud? Totally from the heart.

Hannibal was still totally into just jumping everywhere so he was jumping around the room, seemingly filled with energy.
