The Grounds, Saturday Afternoon

When Jonathyn had started to make faces that seemed like complaints a bit in the afternoon, John had gallantly volunteered to take him for a quiet walk outside to see if the little guy would fall asleep for a nap.

So far all he'd done was insist on sitting on John's shoulders and tugged on John's hair.

"Well, if you're not gonna nap, at least it's peaceful out here," John remarked, walking around a group of large trees and letting Jonathyn reach up to tug at wet branches with his small hands.

[Meant for a pair, but open like the lawn!]
