4th Floor Common Room, Evening

At some point, Marco had stopped hitting the panic button every ten seconds and was now instead in a nice state of numb acceptance. He was also randomly snapping camera phone pictures. Just because.

Jadie on her part was practicing cartwheeling off of the bed. Fluffy, who was back in Marco's loving care, was trying to mimic her and just tumbling off of the couch.

Marco had also turned on the TV and dragged out his video game collection and console figuring that his fellow classmates deserved a bit of a break.

"Daddy? Can we call Aunt Turtle?" Rachel was randomly bouncing around the room, alternately trying to cuddle Fluffy and mimic Jadie's flips.

Marco totally didn't twitch, really. "Okay, yeah, sure. What do you want to tell her? And don't strangle Fluffy."

"I'm cuddling him!"

Which might look a lot like strangling, yeah.

"I just wanna say hi. And tell her that I am saving money in my piggy bank!"

Kit had gotten away from Jen when they were on their way back from Fight Club, and Blake, with a long-suffering sigh, had told her to go ahead and get a shower, and he'd deal with Kit.

The fact that Jen let him do that said something about her occasional lapses in judgment.

Anyway, here was Kit, detouring onto the fourth floor and spotting the consoles.

"Video games!" he exclaimed, plunking himself down on the floor in front of the TV while Blake just sighed and crossed his arms impatiently, glaring. "All right!"

"Knock yourself out." Marco informed him from where he was lying on the floor and trying to keep two young girls and one Wokling from cracking their heads open as they bounced off of the couch. "Just like, not literally."

"Cool," Kit said, grabbing for a controller. "Dad's a huge video game geek. He's got a ton of systems but Mom won't let me play as much as he does."

Blake snorted. "That's 'cause your dad's --"

"Don't start again," Kit warned him.

"Are you guys twins?" Jadie asked excitedly and actually stopped bouncing for a moment.

"Ew, no," Blake piped up. "No way. I'm not related to him."

"'cept you are," Kit pointed out. "We have the same mom, so you're my freaky half brother from the future."

He sounded so thrilled.

"Coool!" Jadie said finally sitting down for a bit. "That's kinda like me and Raaaachel."

"Except I'm not from the future." Rachel informed her, going back to strangling hugging the Wokling.

"Hey," Blake objected over Kit's loud explodey video game sound effects, "is that alive? Shouldn't you let him breathe?"

Kit snorted. "Don't listen to him. He's all boring and rules rules rules all the time."

Blake started to walk over like he was going to whap Kit in the back of the head, then stopped himself. "Shut up, Circuit Collins."

"She's lonely!" Rachel informed him, cuddling the Wokling closer.

"Rachel, loosen up your grip. Fluffy needs to breath too." Marco informed her, raising his head up a bit.

"Her name is Matilda." Rachel informed Marco as she loosened up her grip.

"Hi, Matilda!" Kit called over his shoulder, still intent on blowing up alien spaceships. "Or Fluffy! Whoever you are!"

"Silly! She doesn't talk!" Jadie informed him, going back to do cartwheels off of the couch.

Marco didn't bother to say anything intelligent.

"She needs a bow." Rachel decided.

Blake eyed Jadie suspiciously. "Are you always this hyper?"

Blake led such a sheltered life. He would, with Alex and Jen for parents.

Kit, for his part, was cheerfully blowing up more alien ships. He was actually pretty good at this.
