The Range - Girls With Guns [Tuesday afternoon]

Triela looked pretty much the same way she always did as she bustled about setting up for the club. Which belied the fact that she was thinking furiously about whether or not it was worth sending the seniors off properly. She wasn't used to thinking about people in her circle of acquaintances just leaving, so it wasn't easy to know where to begin.

As people started to arrive for the meeting she gave each person a considering look. Was that someone she needed to figure out how to say goodbye to? Was that someone who might have a good idea for how to do that?

Of course, Triela being Triela, none of these thoughts kept her from grinning and welcoming people.

Hot or not, Algren was there to make certain that no students were being idiots with their guns. Again.

Helen wasn't going anywhere. Not for a couple more years if the priests had any say in it. And since they seemed to be the only ones who did...

Helen took the opportunity to practice with a larger caliber weapon than she usually used. It was good therapy after her first three finals.

"Hey, Helen," Triela called. "How are the horses?"

Helen smiled at her. "They're good. I understand them better tham people I think."

"Well," Triela snorted in amusement, "people don't tend to make a wole lot of sense."

"So true!" Helen said with feeling.

"At least you understand horses," Triela pointed out. "Some of us don't get either."

Helen smiled shyly. "Yes. And they seem to understand me. But some people aren't so bad."

"Like me!" Triela laughed, clearly teasing. "But, yeah, there are some people are are actually pretty good."

Everything was mostly business as usual for Turtle, settling down to give her gun a cleaning before using it.

"Hey, Turtle," Triela called. "You ready for the summer?"

"For the most part," said Turtle with a faint smile. "Yourself?"

"Definitely like you," Helen agreed, not teasing in the slightest. "And some others are really nice."

"I'm looking forward to it. It looks like things are going to be pretty busy back home."

"Yeah." Triela sighed. "And some of those people are graduating."

Helen looked down. "Yeah. I know."
