Third Floor Common Room - Sunday Afternoon

Well, the luau had been quite a success.

As evidenced by the mess Joan was currently cleaning up in the third floor common room. She didn't mind so much though. Because the party had definitely been fun.

Well, of course Kate showed up to do some cleaning even if her mun had to flee the internets sometime soonish. It was the responsible thing to do.

"Hey Joan," she smiled. "How awesome are we?"

"We are so awesome," Joan said with a grin. "And I think we have well proven the awesomeness of our floor."

"As I said last night, if this didn't prove it, nothing will," Kate grinned. And then yawned. "I'm so tired now, though."

"You are so not alone in that," Joan said. "But I didn't want to leave this mess."

"Oh, no," Kate said. "A mess wouldn't be awesome at all." She started cleaning things up from one of the tables.

"It seemed like people had fun though," Joan said. "And I think there is still some leftover food in the fridge."

Kate nodded. "I got a good vibe from everyone I talked to. I'll say it was a success, at least I got many compliments. And mmm, leftovers. The food was good."

"Yes it was," Joan agreed. "You and Liir did a great job on all of that."

"I picked some good recipes of the internet. I think I'll give Liir most of the credit for the rest," Kate laughed.

"Planning is just as important as execution," Joan pointed out.

"I guess you're right," Kate smirked.

"I think I'm good with letting someone else do the planning next time though," Joan said. "Because last night was fun, but kind of exhausting."

"Yeah, I don't think I'm doing that again any time soon," Kate agreed. "I think I'll stick to encouraging others to throw parties for a while, and just bask in the glory of how well this one went."

"Excellent plan," Joan nodded. "Of course, if we get new residents on our floor, we'll need to make sure they realize what a high level of awesome they have to maintain."

"Yes, that's definitely something they need to understand right away," Kate chuckled. "Can't have third floor people going around not realizing what the awesome standards are."

"Exactly! Especially not after all of our hard work," Joan said.

"And it's only two weeks until the new newbies come. That's way too soon for letting the awesome get wrecked."

Joan nodded. "Most definitely. We'll need to figure out some way to show any newbies the awesome ways of the third floor."

"We'll need to think of something -" yawn "- when my brain starts waking up again."

"Yeah. We have two weeks. That's plenty of time to come up with something."

"I think I'm going home for a few days over next weekend, but yeah, we still have a lot of time for stuff like that," Kate said.

"Oh? Any particular reason you're going home?" Joan asked.

"My mun in going on a cruise whee I just feel like it, 'cause it's been an... interesting couple of weeks," Kate shrugged. "Also, I need to get some stuff from there, like warmer clothes."

"My mun is now jealous Sounds like fun," Joan said. "I should probably visit my family at some point soon."

"I don't know how much fun it'll be, 'cause I know I'll spend half of the time thinking up half-truths I can tell my family when they ask about school stuff," Kate smirked. "But I want to see them so much, so I'll just have to get through it."

"Yeah, that's part of the reason I don't go home very much," Joan admitted.

"There's too much work in visiting your family," Kate nodded. "Which is probably a pretty Fandom-specific problem, yet again."

"Oh, definitely," Joan agreed. "Unless you're from a place where weirdness is normal."

"Fandom has forced me into realizing that it can be logical to say 'weirdness is normal'," Kate grinned. "I think I'm going to have to stop using the word 'weird'. It's losing its meaning here."

[Aaand this is where I make my exit, because staying up until 4 AM last night has made me even more tired than Kate.]
