Sixth Floor Kitchen, Tuesday afternoon [9/22]

Hoshi had a craving for something sweet, and there was a recipe she wanted to test out. While tackling a easy recipe was no big problem for her, she figured she should put it to the test before writing her column for this week.

But when she got to the part where she had to slice the bananas, Hoshi had a weird flashback to her class earlier in the day. "Yeah," said Hoshi, giving a weird look to the banana in her hand. "Maybe I should have just stuck with plain old vanilla pudding."

Hayley entered the kitchen, sniffing the air.

"...Awww, what're you making?" she asked.

"Banana pudding," said Hoshi, still giving the banana a funny look. "Or at least, that's the plan."

"Oooh, that's one of the best kinds," Hayley said. She hopped up to sit on a counter. "I'm not gonna be in the way, am I?"

"Not unless you decide to sit in the middle of the pudding," snickered Hoshi. "You, uh, wouldn't mind slicing any bananas, would you?"

Hayley giggled. "That might be fun."

Whether this applied to slicing bananas or sitting in the pudding, she did not specify.

That Angela hadn't managed to get herself up to this floor since it's refurbishment was... well, just bad. She should be so much better at getting herself out.

But hey, now she did, people! "Hoshi," she greeted, grinning as she made her way over. "What you doing?" Other than 'cooking', because that was pretty obvious.

Hoshi had taken a while herself to check out the new floor and the kitchen.

"Hey Angela! I'm making banana pudding," she said, putting the banana down so she wouldn't have to look at it.

Hoshi hoped she meant the bananas, because the thought of handling them herself after her Sex Through The Ages class was really starting to freak her out.

"Knock yourself out then," she said, passing over the banana and a bowl. "How have you been, by the way?"

"Oh, I been just great," Hayley said. "My boyfriend broke his nose on a goose, though."

Yes, she was calling Cal 'her boyfriend'.

She picked up the bowl and banana and found herself a knife.

"I didn't know you had a boyfriend," said Hoshi, surprised. "That must have been one dangerous goose. Was it in the park?"

Hayley waved from where she was sitting on the counter, cutting a banana for Hoshi.

"Hi!" she said.

"Ooh." Moving a little closer now to take a look. Sounded good. "I don't think I even realised we had quite such a good setup up here," she remarked.

"He didn't say," Hayley realized. "He was blowing a bubble and BAM right in the face."

Angela smiled, and offered a wave in return. "Hey! I'm Angela." Pretty sure she hadn't talked to the girl before and forgotten, so...

Hoshi instinctively cringed. "Ouch! That's got to hurt."

When she eventually ran into Cal and put two and two together, she was going to have a lot of questions for him…

"I had no idea, but this is great! I love having a whole brand new kitchen to play in," said Hoshi, grinning. "And it's been way too long since I've cooked up a storm for everyone. I'm starting small this time."

"Yeah. But he said he'd get it taken care of," Hayley said. "So, that's that, you know?"

Hoshi checked the next step on her recipe, then went to look for something in the fridge. "Well, hopefully a broken nose won't leave too much damage to his face?" she called over her shoulder.

"I'm Hayley," she said. "Nice to meet you, Angela. You a fan of bananas?"

"I think the kitchens downstairs are closer to the level of my cooking anyway," Angela admitted with a bit of a laugh. "Microwaves and coffee pots and that's where I stop when it comes to kitchen appliances."

"I... wouldn't go so far as to say fan," Angela said, laughing a little. "But yes, I do kinda like them at least."

"Now you have me wondering what can be made using just a microwave and coffee pot," said Hoshi, giggling. "I may have to do some research on the topic."

"Oh, well, even if it does, it'll just suit him, I think," Hayley said. "Always gives ya character, you know?"

"I ain't really had many," Hayley said. "But puddin'? Oh, banana puddin' is great."

"Microwave coffee-chocolate mug cake?" Angela tried.

Yeah, that was about the level of her cooking. Microwave mug cake.
