5th Floor Common Room, Monday Night

Raven had a secret, one she hadn't shared with anyone. It was even more closely guarded than the whole being a demon thing. Raven, you see, had developed an addiction...to Rumor Gal.

So come Monday night, she slipped out to the common room, pleased to find it empty. She wasn't sure how to explain her obsession with the show. Some of the characters did terrible things to one another, but it was so rich with so many powerful emotions, and she enjoyed experiencing them vicariously. She was particularly drawn to the bad boy of the show for some reason, and, though she'd never admit it, she was anxious to find out if he and his girlfriend were involved in the threesome that was supposed to happen tonight.

She sat down on the couch, curling her legs under her, and flipped on the TV, munching on a plate of vegetables as she waited for the show to begin.


[*sigh* It's canon. Raven watches Gossip Girl religiously. :D Up a bit early so I don't forget, like I have for the past three Mondays.]

"Oooh, are you watching?" asked Hoshi, grinning when she saw Rumor Gal on the television. "I brought Thai food from that place in town if you're hungry."

Raven blushed. "Thai food? Do you have some without meat?"

"Uh huh! I have Pad Thai with tofu," said Hoshi, pulling a take-out container from her bag.

"Thank you, I would love some," Raven said, accepting the container. She glanced at the TV and said, "Is there something you wish to watch? I just sat down a moment ago."

"No, this is just fine. Rumor Gal is one of my favorite shows and there's a new episode tonight," said Hoshi, getting settled on the couch.

Raven was relieved; she didn't want to change the channel. "How long have you watched it?" she remarked casually.

"I saw it for the first time last year, but I didn't really get hooked until I started catching up with the first season," said Hoshi. "I'd love to know who the Rumor Gal really is. Then again, I like spreading gossip myself."

"How were you able to watch the first season?" Raven asked, perking up. Someone needed to explain DVDs and Netflix to her.

"I managed to get it on video," said Hoshi. "I'm sure you could get it on DVD, but I managed to download it on my last trip home. I've got all the previous seasons on a data PADD back in my room, if you ever want to borrow it."

"...I do not know what that is," Raven confessed.

"It's a Personal Access Data Device, like a little mini handheld computer, just a little bit more powerful than the ones available in this time period," said Hoshi. "I brought it with me from my world."

"I am not terribly familiar with computers," Raven admitted. "Would you mind showing me how to use it? If...I do borrow it." Which she totally wanted to.

"I'd be happy to," said Hoshi. "It's always good to have someone to talk to about my favorite show."

"I have found myself enjoying it a great deal as well," Raven finally confessed. Not that it wasn't already obvious.

"It is a really cool show. I'm surprised there aren't more people watching tonight," said Hoshi. "I heard that this is supposed to be a big episode."

"Oh, this show," Hayley said, making a face from the doorway.

"Cal really liked this."

"The previews said that three of the characters are going to...be intimate," Raven said. "Do you know who they will be?"

"You do not like it?" Raven said. But now that she had the excuse of Hoshi wanting to watch it, she wasn't going to offer to change the channel.

"Oh, I didn't say that," Hayley said. "Just makes me think of him, I guess."

She sighed a little. "He was nice."

"I did not know him," Raven said. "I am sorry you miss him so much."

"OH, I wouldn't say that," Hayley said. "He was nice, but he wasn't that dreamy."

"I have no idea," said Hoshi. "Either way, though, it should be interesting."

Raven eyed the TV and the characters getting drunk at a party. "You do not think it could be them, do you?" she said. That would be...very disappointing.

"It's actually kind of weird to be watching it without Cal," said Hoshi.

Raven was never sure how to read Hayley. Sometimes she was so confusing. "I see," she said slowly.
