Hannibal knew that, technically, he should be spending his free time practicing so he wouldn't make a huge fool of himself when he finally fulfilled his requirements for losing his bet with Kate. Instead, he was sprawling in the common room, lights off, with a loud, action packed movie on the television. He'd ordered himself a pizza and decided that pretending that he didn't have humiliation in his future was a much better plan.

"Whatcha watchin'?" Hayley asked, wandering into the common room. "Is it good?"

"No idea," he said, looking in her direction, "and so far. Just found it on television. It's got explosions so it's good enough for me."

"Explosions are nice," Hayley said, taking a seat on a couch. She tucked her legs up under herself. "Though I guess it matters what's getting blown up. Don't see the humor in blowin' up an orphanage, you know?"

"...right," Hannibal said, squinting a bit. "I think even movies avoid that so don't worry. No too many people see the humor in blowing up orphanages."

"Which is good," Hayley said. "Cause then they'd all be homeless and that would be awful."

"Oh...kay," Hannibal said, squinting again. "I think you'll be spared any orphanage explosions. This movie's not that huge on plot so I think even that's too much. So, no awfulness here."

Today was one of those days where Jono was going to pretend to be social, or at least something like it. With Jak off the island participating in that American holiday... thing... He'd been spending entirely too much time in his room, alone.

Brooding.

He quirked an eyebrow as he leaned over the back of the couch, eyeing the television. It seemed... loud, at the very least.

"Perfect!" Hayley said. "Will there be singing? I always like my movies with a song or two, ya know?"

Hayley waved at Jono, you know, even though it was kind of dark. "Come, watch with us! The more the merrier."

It wasn't as though the dark bothered Jono too much. Give him a dank corner to hide in for the rest of his days, and he'll be quite content there, thank you very much.

//Yer figure?// He glanced at her, and then shrugged. //I can see it just fine from right here, gel.//

That sudden voice in his head startled Hannibal and he looked for the source. Once he found it and chalked it up to some of those powers he wished he had, he gave Jono a nod.

"Not gonna win any Oscars but it's has some merit," he said, snickering. "For one, the explosions are amazing."

"I don't think so," he laughed, shaking his head. "It's an action movie, not an action musical. Might have to keep wishing for that."

"Yeeeeah, but who will I get to hold my hand durin' the scary parts?" Hayley joked, grinning widely.

//When in doubt, blow shite up, hm?// Jono seemed almost grimly bemused at that for a moment, before shaking his head and shrugging it off. //What is it about, dare I ask? Or is this one of those films that isn't about anything in particular, so long as it's fast-enough to make a bloke dizzy watchin' it?//

"They should make more action musicals then," Hayley decided. "Who wouldn't watch them?"

Jono gave the girl a long, weird, skeptical sort of look.

And then, wordlessly, he pointed at Hannibal, looking almost amused as he did so. Almost.

He was so very not the touchy-feely sort, really.

"I think," Hannibal started, getting used to the voice in his head quickly, "that the cop is a good guy but he's really a bad guy. And the good guy is actually some washed up rent a cop who uncovered some plot to explode various places in the city. So, now, he's trying to stop him and...something."

Didi wandered in in search of food. She took a fruit salad cup and plopped herself on the couch near Jono.

"How many people have they blown up so far?" she asked amiably.

"I lost count at fifteen," Hannibal admitted. "There's been a lot of group explosions. Lots of carnage."

//Ah, so it's about almost too much, then.// Jono leaned forward over the back of the couch a little more, and then recoiled almost imperceptibly as something else exploded on the screen.

It was a very impressive explosion, he noted.

//I like the 'something' bit th'best, so far, I think.//

//Bloody near everybody who hasn't been given a name, and most of th'ones who actually aren't extras as well,// Jono piped up, with a bit of a grin in his voice, there. //Not to worry, there's still a few bits left to th'city, so yer haven't missed all of the action just yet.//

"I dunno if I would," Hannibal admitted, shrugging. "Musicals aren't really my thing. I leave that to my girl."

"One's a tragedy, a million's a statistic, right?" Didi quoted as she started picking the cherries out of her fruit to eat first. "I'll watch about anything. I'm Didi."

"Something does encompass a lot, doesn't it?" he said, grinning. "I think there's some romantic subplot shoved in here for that little bit of sexiness but the chick's a horrible actress."

"Hannibal King," he greeted, giving her a wave. "And yeah, that's how I feel tonight. It was either this or something on the history of grass."
