3rd floor Common Room, Thursday evening

Since the island was apparently heading into massive Christmas mood and totally insistent that she wear the elf costume no matter how many times she'd changed during the day, Momoko decided to do some practice Christmas baking in the common room. Finding a recipe online for Christmas cookies wasn't hard to do, and the ingredients were all there, yay! But unfortunately it was still Momoko doing the baking.

"Ah! I burned another batch!" That was it. She stormed down the hall (as much as one can in such a cute outfit) with a still-smoking cookie tray in hand and knocked on a door. "Jaime? Are you hoooooome?"

She couldn't help laughing when he opened his door, so her request to help with the cookies took a bit longer to get out.

She was still giggling as she followed him back into the common room. "But you do look good in blue! Really!" And his elf costume was way more normal-looking than hers! "And it could be worse, you know!" She moved past him to dump the burnt cookies into the trash and set the cookie tray aside.

Jaime was torn between blushing at his own embarrassing clothing and blushing (for a different reason) at Momoko's elf costume. He tried to cover that with an amused snort. "Yeah, I could have lost any ability to bake cookies."

Wait...

That was still possible, wasn't it?

"And here I was thinking more like you could be wearing a reindeer outfit! And your nose would blink like that one in the song?" Momoko grinned and reached for a clean mixing bowl.

"That would be... worse. Yes." He started to reach out and poke Momoko, but then hesitated when he realized he'd be poking at her bare ribs. Skin...

Then he just looked awkward with his finger just pointing vaguely at her.

"See? Totally could be worse!" Momoko nodded with a cheerful grin as she set the bowl on the counter and tried to clear a little room. "I wonder if you'd be teal? Like the other deer here. That would be kind of cute! Not that a reindeer isn't cute, too. Ok! What's the first step on the recipe?" She turned to him and then raised an eyebrow. "Uhm, what are you pointing at?"

"Nothing!" he declared, putting his hand down at his side abruptly. "Um... recipe! Since this is Christmas-y we should do sugar cookies. And do the cookie cutter and colored sugar thing."

"Weirdo!" Momoko stuck her tongue out at him. "Uhm. Are those easy cookies? Because I thought that this one was but it wasn't. At least, not for me."

She picked up a piece of paper from the counter and blew the flour off of it before holding it up for him to see. Which was silly as it was illegible. She smiled apologetically as a clump of dough fell from it. "Soooo. Your recipe is easy, right?"

"...do I smell cookies?" Hayley asked, following her nose into the common room. She was not dressed as an elf. She wore a white shirt with suspenders and and jeans.

Yes, there had been an elf costume earlier in the day, but Lion-o had managed to ditch it in favor of his usual clothes. The bells on the shoes had driven him crazy.

He popped his head into the common room to see who was there. "Hey Momoko! You will not believe what happened to me at work this week," he shouted.

"Hiiii Hayley!" Momoko bounced a bit to get noticed and waved. "We're trying! I burned a bunch and now I've got help!" She pointed at the blue elf who was hopefully somewhere in the room. "Looks like you totally escaped being a Christmas elf today. Congratulations!"

"...I had to escape from it?" Hayley said, tilting her head. "I would've, if someone told me where they were getting them from!"

Dinah followed her nose, accompanied by a ching-ching, ching-ching sound of all the bells on her elf costume (http://www.costumecraze.com/image.php?imagefile=http://img.costumecraze.com/images/vendors/rubies/25550-large.jpg) and shoes. "Is there cooking? Can I help?" She grinned at Momoko. "Love the hat."

"Hey Lion-o! What happened?" Momoko turned happily at the sound of Lion-o's voice but pouted when she saw him. "Aw! You didn't get an elf costume either? I was totally wondering what you'd look like!"

"I did get an elf costume, but I made Snarf wear it," said Lion-o with a smirk. "Anyway, Professor Deadpool came into the diner yesterday, and... and he sang to me. It was weird."

"I'm hurt, so, so hurt, by your cruel accusations." No he wasn't.

"And, they're pretty easy. You just make the dough, roll it out, and bake it. C'mon, I'll teach you!"

"Ahh Dinah! So cute! Lucky! I totally want bells, too, though!" Momoko laughed and gave her own hat's poofy-ball-thingie a tap. it made no noise. "See? No cute bells. You can totally help us! The more the merrier, which is totally perfect for Christmas cookies! Both the Merry and the More!"

"Yours is pretty adorable, too, you know." Wait... he hadn't meant to say that aloud. It implied that he thought both of them were adorable.

"I'm just glad my shoes aren't too pointy. And you should see the hat the angel at the church was wearing today. It lit up and played 'Joy to the World'," Dinah said, bouncing over with another bell-chime. "I kind of love this side of Fandom, you know? Ooo, what should I do, spread the frosting?"

"You got yours to stay off? Mine kept coming back all day, so I just decided to go ahead and wear it. Was yours cute? I totally have to see it if Mr Snarf is wearing one." She grinned, evilly, then shook her head. "So, wait. Professor Deadpool sang to you? Why?"

"And you look so cuuuute," Dinah said, laughing as she flicked the end of Jaime's hat. Totally getting the compliment and turning pink. Jaime was so good for her ego. "I love Momoko's. This is as good as the shiny hats it gave us way back in March. They had diamond bows on them."

Momoko shrugged. "I have no idea! I woke up with mine on. And every time I changed to something else, I somehow ended up with this back on!" She waved a hand at her costume. "Totally weird! So how was your day, if you weren't an elf?"

"I have no idea. It was really, really strange," said Lion-o. "Poor Snarf missed the whole thing. He drank too much of the eggnog on Tuesday and felt sick all the next day."

"Oh, my day was just fine and dandy," Hayley said. "It's hard for days here to be bad,though. It seems like nothing really bad ever happens here. It's kind of amazin'."

Jaime was trying not to stare at Dinah, but that mostly meant looking over at Momoko and then trying not to stare at her. Which meant looking back at Dinah. It was enough to give a guy whiplash.

And the cute comment had him blushing and trying to focus on the cookies.

Dinah grabbed a spreading knife and started putting icing on the cookies. "So what have you been up to lately? I haven't seen you in ages! Did you go home for Thanksgiving?" Ching-ching!

That pissed off bundle of blonde huddled into a corner of a couch would be Elle Bishop in a friggin' elf outfit. What the hell? It couldn't even be a Slutty Elf outfit, because at least that would've been amusing and she could've used it to her benefit. No, this made her look like a mall reject.
