Third Floor Common Room [Sunday afternoon]

With all the kids on the island for the weekend, most of them way too adorable, Jaime figured that he should do something special. You know, for the kids.

So he was in the common room baking cookies. Lots and lots of cookies. After all, the people who were usually in the dorms could go through a whole bunch of cookies all by themselves. Tossing their kinda-of-children into the mix meant he probably needed at least five times as many just to keep anyone from going hungry.

And while Jaime was aware that stuffing kids full of sugary cookies and chocolate milk (or regular old boring milk if they preferred) was a recipe for hyper-active disaster... Well, they weren't his kids.

Momoko still wasn't sure how she felt at not having any of her own kids show up. Two years in a row. Did that mean something about her future?

Ah! There was no use thinking about it. She just wouldn't know the future until it happened, she decided, so she grabbed some anime DVDs, art supplies and action figures and was dragging the loot to the common room only to find Jaime baking.

"Ah! Hi Jaime!" She looked around to see if he had little ones attached to him. FOR NO REASON. REALLY.

"Hey, Momoko!" Jaime called back with a grin. "How did you enjoy prom?"

He was conspicuously without little kids hanging around at the moment, actually. Which was okay with him since his hands were full of cookie dough related activities.

She was actually disappointed to see no kids. She kind of did want to see how cute he would be as a dad.

Ah. Maybe they were with their mom?

She waved that thought away and grinned back at him. "It was awesome! I got to dance and chat with a bunch of people and got so many nice things said about my dress and the food was delicious! You?"

"It was a nice dress," Jaime grinned, remembering just how nice.

"And I had fun. There was dancing and talking and it was just generally fun!" The making out had been great, too.

Lena had been in trouble for last night. Not lots of trouble, but some trouble. Going away was okay, but going away without telling first wasn't. So she couldn't leave the Third Floor without Mom or Dad right now.

Yay for cookie baking, then! "Hi hi! I know your name now, Mr. Jaime!" She beamed at the other person. "Aunt Momo!" HA!

"Thank you! I am totally in love with it! I wish I could wear it more places, you know? And you really did look great." She held up a dvd. "Mind if I play this? And then I can help with the cookies? I can have some, right? Or are they all for your kids?"

Jaime laughed. "Go ahead. I'm sure the kids'll appreciate something to watch." He looked over at her curiously. "So did you end up with any, or are you like me: just watching everyone else freak out?"

Jaime raised an eyebrow. "And who told you my name? And what else did they tell you about me? It probably wasn't true. I'm really super-nice!"

"Aunt?" Momoko blinked and stared a moment, then broke into a huge smile. Ah? She was someone's aunt! Almost as good! "Hi! Ah, I am such a bad aunt; you are totally going to have remind me of your name, little one!" And who her parents were?

"You are nice! You gave me Coca-Cola!" Or actually, just encouraged Lena to take it. Bad Jaime. "But your name was in the Radio notes and I got to read them they talked about how we had a restaurant and you talked to Uncle Tony!"

Lena was used to this now and just bounced over to hug her Aunt. "I'm Lena! For Helena Zoharent Priestly!" With pink and green streaked hair, and fake tattoos and very sparkly nail polish. "Mommy and you are both superheroes!" Shhhhh. Oh well, too late.

"Oh, so the squirrels told you." Jaime shook his head. "They are often wrong, you know. Though this time they were right. I am Mr. Jaime and I did talk to Tony."

Hopefully they hadn't mentioned the coke thing, though.

"They're nice squirrels. They have little bottles all over the place in there. I broke one throwing it at Stupid Anakin, though." Lena looked guilty for 3.4 seconds, then perked up again. "And you said we were going to make cookies!" She dragged a chair over to stand on so she could be as tall as him. As tall as Mom!

Who totally knew about the Coke now, and was gonna have words with him.

"Did I say that?" Jaime asked mock-innocently. "Are you sure?"

She started the dvd and then returned to the kitchen to help.

"Yep! Two years now, and not a single one even knows me." She grabbed an apron from a closet and put it on, laughing. "Watch, next year I'll have a dozen following me around like baby ducklings to make up for it. Probably all flying, too."

He shared that laugh before looking over at her. "Do you feel jealous?" he asked. He didn't, not really, but there was something about Momoko's expression that made him wonder...

"I mean, me? I'm just grateful. High school is stressful enough without having to take care of kids. Even if they are adorable."

"You did! You did!" Lena giggled and reached to poke him. "I'm sure! You said! You were gonna make cookies!"

"What kind of cookies do you want to make, then?" Jaime asked with a grin. "And did you already wash your hands?" That was the important first step, after all.

"Lena-chan, then!" Momoko squealed and hugged the little one back. She so should have guessed from the hair, but... Hee! Dinah had a little girl! And Momoko was an aunt!

"We are! Although I am totally sure you're supposed to keep that a secret back home, right? Ah! It's nice to meet you! You're here to visit your parents? Are you having fun?"

"Uh-hunh of course." Daughter of a chef, here! "And chocolate chip! With cranberries! And nuts!" Lena beamed at him. "Do you make cookies a lot?"

"I am! And it's cool to see you too!" Lena grinned up at her, hugging her heard and said, "I know, secret-secret, but Mommy said it was okay to show off powers here. So it's okay to say that too, right?"

"I don't know," Jaime grinned as he found a clean mixing bowl. "What constitutes a lot?" Once every week or two... didn't seem like that much to him.

She mulled it over, washing her hands at the sink. "I'm not really sure? I mean, they're not here forever. At least they weren't last year. And some are apparently from different universes, so they may never happen at all, no matter how much you do like them when you meet them?"

She reached for a hand towel. "But on the other hand, it's kind of sad to think that if none show up then maybe it's because there are none?"

"Tuesdays and Friday and sometimes Sundays. Gotta have desserts at the restaurant," Lena said knowledgeably. "Do you know my daddy? He's a chef! A master chef!"

"I don't know," Jaime said doubtfully. "If there's one thing I've learned it's that pretty much everything is possible. I mean... look how many people have kids from multiple relationship! Or from relationships they'd never think of. I doubt whether it's possible or likely or whatever has much to do with things."
