Both of Bod's finals were tomorrow so he was spending the night before...doing absolutely nothing productive. He did have his books out on the table beside him but he wasn't actually studying. It was just such a nice, mild night that he was, instead, sitting and watching the sky.

He knew that probably seemed a bit mundane and boring but sometimes it was just nice to be outside and be lazy. There were definitely things on his mind but he could easily push those aside for relaxation and calm and mellow. Or, well, he could do that for a few moments before he was right back to thinking about all those issues that had been cropping lately.

Things weren't easy but he was finding that he liked it that way.

Jack plopped into one of the deck chairs, giving Bod the guy head-nod greeting. "Hey! How's it going?"

"It's going quite well," said Bod, opening his eyes to peer over at the new arrival. "And yourself? How are you?"

"Not too bad. At least, when the island isn't all crazy." Jack shrugged.

"Are you talking about the errant children from last weekend?" Bod guessed, smiling a bit. "I didn't get to experience that for myself. A friend of mine had several show up."

"Yeah, it's...well, it'll throw you for a loop when it happens," he said, with a small grin.

"I can only imagine," said Bod, smiling a bit. "I saw how it affected some friends of mine. Considering it would be one of the first times the island's oddness affected me, I'm certain I would have been confused."

"I spend a lot of my time here confused," Jack admitted.

...it wasn't really the island's fault.

"You haven't gotten used to the oddities?" Bod wondered, frowning briefly. "I would have thought anyone that was here long enough would tolerate it by now."ts

"Every time I have this place pegged," he said, thumping his fist in his other hand, "it throws me for a loop."
