Girls with Guns, Wednesday, After Classes

"This is our last week together," Elena said. "So we're dispensing with all those silly rules about not pointing your weapons at each other, and not having them be loaded, and so on. This week, they're fully loaded, and it's war. Shoot each other like the crazed people you are."

This would probably sound ominous, if not downright insane if Elena weren't standing in front of a large pile of (moddable) Nerf guns.

Personally, she'd gone for a Raider CS 35. Lots of ammo, pump action, decent grip.

Beware! There may be weird people shooting Nerf bullets at you!!

... okay, maybe not carnage. They were Nerf weapons, after all.

Please do not let this stop you from play-acting out whatever dire injuries you may get, up to and including fake deaths that Shakespeare himself would be proud of. Bonus points if you get back up again five seconds later.

Is probably not a good idea this week, with everyone running around with Nerf guns. If you're extra careful and find a quiet spot, you can probably get some practice in, but it's not recommended.

Or shoot at him! This week, it's entirely okay!

Elena had darted off after her intro speech and was trying to find a good hiding space in the shooting range. There weren't many options, but stealth was a habit that died hard.

It's only entirely okay if you don't have any problems with being shot back by a man who very, very rarely missed.

That said, since Algren had gone and armed himself with a Longstrike CS-6, he was pretty much inviting the trouble, wasn't he?

Dinah Lance

Dinah was gonna miiiiss him! So she was trying to sneak up on him. Probably not very effectively.

*Paff!*

Of course she would miss him! He was Professor Hot Algren, after all.

Professor Hot Algren with the impeccable aim with a firearm. And he was absolutely taking the nerf dart to the back of the head in stride as he turned around and calmly, with a smile on his face, fired three shots in succession at Dinah's forehead.

... He liked this Nerf gun thing entirely too much.

Thup-thup-thup! "Soooooo dead."

Dinah blinked with the impacts, giggling and staggering back a little, then brought her gun back up to aim for his chest. *FOOSH-Paff!*

Diving roll!... made slightly more awkward by trying to do that with a toy gun in her hand.

Algren, by all rights, could have attempted to avoid the incoming foamy-thing. The stiffness in his old injuries was mostly gone, and a roll wouldn't be completely unheard of in order to avoid that shot.

... But honestly now, it was made of foam.

It bounced harmlessly from his chest, earning a slightly larger smile.

"Not a bad shot, Miss Lance."

Eeeee. Yes, that was a small internal moment of glee, even after a year of knowing Professor Algren. "Heh. Thanks!" Dinah wriggled the Nerf gun in her hand. "I guess that's something to practice at a range... a private, padded, isolated range where no one would get hurt but me," she added, thinking about that.

"Or, preferably, where even you wouldn't get hurt," Algren replied, raising an eyebrow pointedly. "Bullet wounds aren't particularly enjoyable, in case you were wondering."

He had more than a little experience in that regard.

"Orange foam, I'm willing to make an exception for."

"Ack," was Dinah's response to that info, eyebrows going up in dismay at that image. She turned to shoot at one of her classmates, then turned back to say, "Point. Pointy point. Maybe I can get my uncle to tell me where the police academy cadets learn that stuff. I mean, I'd think there'd have to be a place where they do that."

Yeah, no. Jim Gordon was going to give her a grim look and not let her try any diving, rolling, jumping or somersaulting with a gun until she got the whole lying, standing, sitting parts down.

"Keep practising with your Nerf gun, Miss Lance," Algren replied, shouldering his Nerf rifle. "And then, when you figure you have the method down perfectly, I want you to never, ever attempt to do so with the real thing regardless."

Ever. And that same raised eyebrow dared her to attempt to protest.

While Action!Dinah really, really wanted to... Smart!Dinah was a little more aware that some stuff only happened in the movies.

"...yeeeah, well. I think I can resist the temptation. Too many people would kick my ass for it." The line forms to the left!

Makita

"Provided you didn't manage to blow large, messy chunks of yourself off by being an idiot, yes, they would."

... He never was the sort to speak pretty when being painfully blunt could work so much more effectively.

"It's likely that I'd help them."

Leda

"Yaaaah!" Leda let out a yell and grabbed two nerf guns. She wasn't aiming hugely precisely as she fired at her friends.

Dinah was half-distracted by the image of shooting her own kneecap off, and then distracted by the image of Captain Algren coming to New Gotham to kick her other kneecap in.

"Totally, totally understood." She grinned. "And that is why we have Nerf Guns."

*Thup!*

"Precisely."

So that idiots, while being idiots, wouldn't mangle themselves in idiotic ways.

Algren's hand shot upward, and he caught this dart, and then twitched another small smile before re-loading his rifle and firing it right back.
