"Hey, guys," said Zack once people seemed more or less assembled for today's reserves meeting. "Since we're working on getting involved in some more in-depth exercises in the future, I thought that maybe keeping it simple today would be for the best. You more or less know one another by now, I think, but do you know how the other people here in the group work?" He grinned a bit, and then shrugged. "Unarmed sparring. Grab a partner and go at it. Don't do anything to seriously hurt your partner, though. I want to see you going for grabs and holds and light contact, but not force. We want our crew in one piece, here. And if someone does get hurt, come see me. I have potions, or else I can help haul your butt to the clinic."

The look that he was wearing was one of those very serious looks that suggested that he would be very displeased if it came down to hauling anyone's butt to the clinic, okay. And considering the bouncy puppy that he was a semester ago, it probably seemed all the more severe if you happened to know Zack.

"Before we get started, I want to announce the other two leaders who will be stepping up to help me lead the group. Jak and Kennedy both have some excellent ideas about further training exercises, and they've both agreed to take leadership roles here, and so if you see them be sure to give them a pat on the back, or at least a little respect, okay?"

Whatever your idea of respect was.

"I have been to my share of brawls," she said. Mostly with the Class Rep. Asuna saw the punch coming but was surprised at the speed and only managed to turn her head, Triela's fist clipped her cheek.

It stung. She aimed a kick to Triela's shin.

This time Triela was ready for Asuna to respond, so she was able to twist her leg slightly in order to catch the incoming foot directly on her shin. It would have hurt most people, but Triela just shrugged it off.

"I see," she said, spinning around and reaching both hands out for Asuna's arm. Triela wasn't precisely good at holds and throws, but she figured she should give it a try.

One second she was aiming for a kick, the next Asuna found herself flying through the air. "Aaaaaaah!"

Triela hadn't expected that to work, actually. And she definitely wasn't used to doing it with heels. She stumbled, losing her balance as she let go of Asuna and almost tumbling to the ground.

As soon as she fell to the ground, Asuna popped back up. "Okay, I guess, I'm not that good yet."

"Don't worry about it," Triela shook her head angrily. She wasn't mad at Asuna, just at herself. That had been a stupid mistake.

"You alright?" she managed to remember to ask.

She nodded, "Don't worry, I'm a lot tougher than I look and it lloks like your the same too."

Asuna fell back into a stance. "Shall we go on?"

Triela took a deep breath and nodded. "Sure."

She wasn't going to quit if Asuna wanted to keep going. It'd be like an admission of weakness.

Or something.

Asuna was stubborn, the Class Rep actually called her bullheaded violent monkey. But she also knew a spar was just a spar and didn't take anything personally.

"Let's go," she charged Triela hoping she would get one more hit in.

"I'm very sure the island wasn't that specific," he said, sticking his tongue out at her.

"Of course not," Tahiri replied, poking at his ribs. "That part was a favor to me."

Squall grunted in pain and released his grip. "OW."

Fine, then, brute force wasn't going to work. He tried to roll away from Zack and stand up. He would have had a better plan, but his scar was throbbing.

"Whenever you're ready," Triela offered with a smirk as she danced backward, waiting to see what Asuna was going to do with all that momentum.

"Would you be in a matching outfit?" Ben asked.

"Maybe," Tahiri allowed. "If you asked really, really nicely."

"Oh, please, Jedi Veila, will you join me in wearing a ridiculous outfit to see if the insane appeals to the island's sense of whimsy?" he replied.

How was Tahiri even supposed to keep a straight face for all of that? "Bring me ice cream, since I can't seem to go myself?" she asked. "And I'll find a completely thermal outfit to wear, just so you're not doing it alone."

Zack was totally going to let him go, kicking his legs up and then rolling back so that he could throw himself to his feet in the process.

"... New scar, huh?" Yeah, he could relate with that one. "Sorry, man. I'll leave it alone from here on in."

Since brawling is what her fights with Ayaka amounted to, she decided to stick with that and throw caution to the wind. She rushed Triela and swung her right hand for a swift roundhouse punch.

"A few months old," Squall confirmed, as he also climbed to his feet. "But don't go easy on me -- I can take whatever you dish out."

Well... points for effort, at least. But the move wasn't exactly a surprising one, except in how normal it was. Triela swung an arm down to block the punch and tried to get her leg out in order to trip Asuna on the way by.

Her palm stung from the block, though. All that momentum meant that Asuna hit hard.

Zack nodded, and then tapped the one on his jaw. "Month and a half. Almost two."

Entirely because it levelled out the playing field, somewhat, yes. And Zack liked a fair fight in situations like this.

"But like you said? Don't bother going easy on me, either."

And now he was running at Squall with a fist aimed for his guts. There was no sense holding back now, was there?

"Deal," Ben replied. "What flavor?"

"Chocolate chocolate chunk," Tahiri replied promptly. "Although you may have to actually go get the outfit for me. Every time I try to go anywhere that isn't class or reserves or the salle, I hit invisible walls."

It was embarrassing.

"Does it hurt?" Ben asked.
