The Roof - Wednesday Night

Sleeping alone in the room was unnerving. Alice had been gone for two weeks. Kyle had woken up a few times and found himself looking to the closet, wondering if the grain of the wood was different or if the sound that jarred him awake was from the air vent or from the creek he'd seen before Alice had disappeared into her other world. The closet stayed the way it should have been and the only noises were a normal part of dorm life.

This week, he wasn't sleeping much and tonight he was on the roof. There weren't many stars to look at with it being pretty cloudy, but there were still a few lights on in town and out somewhere in the distance to watch.
