Danger Shop, After Classes

Once again the reserves members had been handwavily notified that the meeting would be in the Danger Shop, but did that mean the traditional snacks would be forgotten? Of course not.

Of course there were cookies -- a lot of them seemed to have cherries in them, for some reason, and others had various fruit-jelly fillings as well. There was also a small pile of tubes of Spree, courtesy of Kennedy, who was grateful not to be a hedgehog this week but also more than a little eager to get rid of some of the source of yesterday’s sugar hangover.

“So we--” because she’d been here too, watching, shut up-- “did some footwork and coordination stuff last week, right? This week we’re gonna try and work on being sneaky, a little.” Kennedy waved a hand around the Danger Shop. “So you guys get to run a maze.”

“The maze isn’t really the sneaky part, though,” Zack added, perking up as he stuffed a couple of Spree tubes into his pockets. You guys totally didn’t see that. Honest. “The maze is all about finding your way through unfamiliar terrain, or something like that. The sneaky part is that there are ghosts in the maze, and they’re hungry.

Fear.

“Also I think they have names, but anyway.” Kennedy was not pocketing any candy, thank you. “Don’t worry, they’re sorta goofy-looking ghosts. Like bedsheet-over-your-head type, so no trauma. Anyway.” She waved a hand. “Go. Maze it up. Try not to get fake-eaten.”

And for the love of everything, don’t ask about that ‘waka-waka-waka’ sound.

[OCD on the way up! Open!]

hee, "Warka-a".

This just reminds me of that silly fake Pac-Man movie trailer I've seen. That tries to make it look like a srs horror movie.

Wes shifted uncomfortably from foot to foot. Ghosts? Who wanted to eat him? He had zero experience with that.

Yeah, he was gonna wait for a partner.

When Zack was telling Alexander about the reserves, he didn't remember anything being said about there being snacks.

It was a very pleasant surprise indeed.

Kennedy was going to let Zack have her share of the candy, thanks. No more sugar for her. (This resolution would maybe last two weeks.)

She was available, though, and a bit preoccupied with the question of how, exactly, you defeated a pink bedsheet ghost. Bleach, maybe?

She liked how this group had new and interesting challenges each week. It made things fun!

Ha! After the Library the maze will be a piece of cake! She can handle this no problem!

And just like Asuna, she ran headlong into the maze with no plan whatsoever. It's amazing how she's lived so long...

Leda was so ready for this. Ghosts? No problem, her mother had been a ghost for awhile.

She did wonder about the hungry part though.

"Hey there, need a partner?"

Wesley sighed in relief. "Yes, certainly, if you wouldn't mind."

"Not a problem." she smiled. "I'm Leda by the way. I don't think we've officially met?"

"Wesley," said Wes, sticking out a hand to shake. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

"You too." she said, shaking his hand. "So, got any experience being sneaky?"

"Some," he said vaguely. "Although I'm not particularly adept at it. And yourself?"

"I've had to do a fair amount of sneaking around in cities yeah. It's been a while since I've done it though."

Wes nodded. "That should be particularly advantageous, then. Shall we begin?"

[um. did you switch accounts or something? :-? You went from anarchist-queen to woad_queen. I totally mess stuff like that up all the time, lol.]

"Let's." Her voice dropped down to a murmur. "Oh, uh, how are you at mazes, and also do you know sign language?"

[Eep! Yeah I totally messed that one up. Glad to know I'm not the only one who messes that up.]

Re: Tackle the Maze!

[identity profile] wesleynotponcy.livejournal.com 2010-07-27 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sign language? Yes," he answered promptly in an equally hushed tone. "As for mazes, I'm not certain. I've never really had much experience in that field."

Katniss was going to stuff things into her pockets with abandon, yes. She'd eat some of it, too, but these cookies should keep for a couple days, at least.
