The Deck, Friday Around Noon
The deck may appear deserted, but alert studentsmight notice a small girl peering over the edge from the bushes along the side.
She had figured out that she was not in Bordertown at all. Which did nothing for her peace of mind, though sleeping in the stables last night hadn't been too bad.
Now her stomach was growling once again. But she wasn't quite brave enough yet to venture into the town belowto scrounge for food.

"Are you hiding?" Ino called to the little girl, offering a smile as she bounced up on the deck with her hot chocolate and muffin. "You ain't doin' a perfect job, you know."

Besides that hot chocolate smelled pretty good. So she peeked up again, still only the top of her head visible over the edge of the deck.

Ino was pretty good at looking harmless, really, especially when she was trying.

Besides the safety of the bushes was just a quick dash away. She looked at Ino through the Dandelion puff of her hair curiously.

Even if it was, possibly, a student who knew her this girl was looking at her like she didn't and so--introductions.

The kids at Castle Pup had called her Florida, so she pointed to the big green "FLORIDA" printed on the oversized orange t-shirt that was her only garment.
no subject
"Florida, huh?" Ino nodded slowly. "Can you talk, honey? Do you know why you're here?"
Where were her guardians and what the hell were they doing dressing her so shoddily?

Her stomach growled again, reminding her that she'd have to go looking for food soon.

She could always get another muffin.
"It's food," Ino said, tilting her head at it. "If you want it."
no subject
She gave Ino her thanks in the form of a smile, and rubbing her hand on her belly to show how good it was.

She tilted her head to one side quizzically.

Ino gave the little girl a dubious look. "I think we're entering--you ever heard of different worlds?"
no subject
Florida nodded, her face showing a polite 'uh, yeah' expression.
no subject
"Good," she said. "We're probably in one of them then. Fandom Island--is in the United States of America?"
no subject
She frowned at the name, it didn't ring a bell.

"This morning?" she asked slowly, hoping that was the case.

"Do you have anything else to wear?" she asked. "Anything else to eat?"

And she had just finished muffin. Oops, maybe she should have saved some of that for later.
She shook her head.
