Behind the Dorms, Tuesday Afternoon

"Hey, guys!" Zack was in... what was possibly the best mood ever as people gathered behind the dorms for the weekly Reserves meeting and he passed out colored scarves in black and purple. "First off, I want to say good job to everyone who helped fight off those fish on Friday! You totally showed them all who was boss! Twice!" And the world might never know if he was being completely serious, or if he actually thought that he was being clever. "Today we're going to be doing a bit of team-building. Does everyone here know how to play Capture the Flag?"

If you didn't, he was going to look at you strangely.

"To practice teamwork," Maladicta added, giving Zack and his excessive cheer a look out of the corner of her eye. For someone who lived on caffeine, she really wasn't hyper enough to even attempt his level. "If you don't know what it is, we'll be splitting up into two groups based on the color you are assigned and work on defending your own flag while trying to steal the other teams."

And guess who snagged a black scarf. Go on. Guess.

It wasn't Kennedy; she'd snagged a purple one and tied it rakishly around her head like a headband. "Seriously, it's self-explanatory. Flag, capture, duh, right? It's not rocket science." Oh, god, nobody ask her to explain rocket science. Please. "So go, split up and do that thing."

She could've said more about working together, but like she'd ever been trained in that. Pssht.

James slowly sipped a cup of tea, absently playing with this black headband. This seemed interesting, this flag game.

"We need a plan and a hiding spot," James said, wondering if it was fair to hide it in a place only he knew about.

So I ended up heading toward Del Taco, changing my mind halfway there and going Panda Express-ward, somehow ending up at a Yoshinoya completely in the opposite direction, and then realizing on my way back from Yoshinoya that I'd completely forgotten there was a Chipotle RIGHT. THERE.

I blame you both. *mwah*

No matter how much coffee Kennedy drank on a weekly basis it probably wasn't as much as Maladicta did, huh?

...she was still on her second double-chocolate mocha of the morning, though, and eyeing Zack's solution to the team-choice question with clear amusement.

Zack was very... special. Though he did have the hair for both those ribbons, so who could fault him?

Other than Maladicta. Who was trying not to facepalm from her spot in the shade.

Drinking and eating things quickly was something that actually came fairly naturally to Alexander, considering how often he had to mostly gulp something down before Mannanan changed his mind, so he wasn't concerned about having to waste coffee before the game started. He'd never insult Maladicta that way besides.

Alexander certainly hadn't meant to copy Kennedy's style with the scarf, but it did rather seem the most reasonable way to wear it. As he secured it behind his head, he offered his thoughts. "We should perhaps divide our forces; one group can distract the other team while a handful of others try to be more subtle in their attempts to capture the other flag."

Alexander...had come to speak with Zack about something in particular, but he had to admit, that ribbon was fairly distracting.

"That's...quite a way to wear it,Zack" he commented, and would have felt his own method was insufficient if it weren't for the shortness of his hair. "Very...dashing."

"Yes," agreed Alexander. "It does seem a bit more...practically that way."

Stop staring at the ribbon, Alexander. Stop...

He shook his head slightly. There we go. "Anyway, I actually wanted to ask you something, if you have a few moments. It is not associated with the Reserves directly, but it is pertaining to clubs..."

One apparently picks up certain things when raised by an evil tyrant wizard, though one wasn't even aware of such nefarious underworkings.

"Well, I was reading about fraternities in one of the library books," Alexander explained, "and came across Fandom's own fraternity, Kappa Kappa Gremlin. I've already spoken with Constable Fraser about being our advisor, but, since I have so little experience with running a club, and you, clearly, do, I was wondering if perhaps you'd be interested in joining forces to help us along."

Apparently so. Alexander was wondering how he could have possibly worked himself up to nervousness about this whole thing, considering just how easy it had been on both fronts.

He'd try to avoid thinking that there was something bad waiting in the wings, that it was too easy.

"Oh!" he said, blinking away his surprise at the easy answer. "That's wonderful! I was hoping you would think something like that; I myself am very like minded. I was hoping perhaps we could schedule it for Mondays. It won't interfere with the Reserves that way, and it will be a good start to developing a successful week!"
