Third Floor Common Room [Monday evening]

Jaime had popcorn, chips and salsa, and candy corn (hey, it was that time of year!) spread out and was flopped back on the couch sorting through a small stack of DVDs. He wasn't entirely sure what he wanted to... Aha!

Giant robots with over-the-top (if somewhat awkward) CGI effects were just what the doctor ordered. Not that the movie was really good, but Jaime wasn't looking for good.

And at least it wasn't the sequel.

And was it a surprise that the candy corn bowl was the one to disappear when Momoko suddenly flopped onto the couch beside him? "What are we watching?" She grinned, staring at the blank tv and biting into a piece of the candy.

"We're not watching anything if you're going to hog all the sugar," Jaime complained.

She hugged the bowl closer. "You get the chips and popcorn! The candy is mine."

"Does that mean I get the remote control?" Jaime asked with a grin.

[heromaniac]

"You always get the remote control." At least until she asked him for it. She settled back into the couch, folding her legs and setting the bowl in her lap. "Make it a good movie, though, and maybe I'll share some of the candy. Are there drinks?"

"There are if you get some," Jaime shot back with a grin. "And I think you'll like this one. It's got robots in it."

Momoko rolled her eyes, chuckling as she unfolded herself from the couch. "I'm totally doing this for the robots, you know." She wasn't, but she could pretend.

She started to set her candy bowl on the seat, then gave Jaime a suspicious glance and instead carried it with her to the kitchen. "What do you want? I see water, orange juice, milk, V-8, soda..."

"Not the company?" Jaime asked, trying to pout.

Nope. He hadn't gotten any better at that.

"Silly Jaime! It's always all about the robots!" Momoko tapped him lightly on the head with a cold soda can, then held it over his shoulder for him to take. "Plus, since I'm not living on this floor anymore, I'm totally your company."

Jaime reached up to snag the can as he set the DVD to play. "You and your robots," he sighed. "I'm surprised you don't have one of your own already."

[heromaniac]

She came around and sat next to him again. "Well, they're cool! And it's not my fault you haven't made me one; I totally asked you to, you know. One of those times you were taking something apart?" She reached to try to take the dvd case away from him.

"Robots are really hard," Jaime objected. "You should make your own if you want one so much!"

[heromaniac]

She nudged him and held out the candy bowl, staring at the screen as the voice-over began. "If they're hard for you, imagine how hard they'd be for me! I don't even know where to start. I'll hold the tools for you?"

"Maybe we could do it as a team project or something? I mean... I'm not a robot guy, but we could learn together?"

[heromaniac]

Ted Kord could make robots!

Momoko looked over at him and grinned eagerly. "Really?"

[weldedtomyspine]

"Sure." He was so going to regret that offer, wasn't he?

[heromaniac]

Maybe?

"It doesn't have to transform or fight crime or shoot lasers or anything; it can be a really simple one!" Momoko settled back against the couch to watch the movie. Her own robot! YAY! She couldn't stop smiling.

"Good. Because I don't think I can do laser-shooting robots."

[heromaniac]

"You totally could if you tried." Momoko had faith. "But we'll start small. The school would probably make me keep him in the locker otherwise, and that would totally be cruel to little Meiko."

"Meiko?" She'd already named it?

[heromaniac]

Of course she had!

She held up a finger. "'Mei' from Jaime and," she held up a finger on her other hand "'ko' from Momoko! Meiko!" She put her two fingers side by side and grinned at him.

She was giving the robot a smushname?

"That... makes sense?"

[heromaniac]

"I know, right? It's totally perfect for him." She nodded and leaned back against the couch again, digging into the candy bowl. "We can get started after your exams. How's your studying coming along? Need any help yet? EH?!?! Is that a robot scorpion?!"

"Him?" Jaime shook his head and took some candy for himself.

"Awesome, isn't it?"

"Of course the robot's a him. You weren't thinking of making a girl robot, were you? Meiko's totally a boy name." Momoko tossed a candy corn at him. "And it is pretty awesome, yeah. And he's fast! Are the army guys supposed to be the bad guys or good guys? It's hard to tell."
