Third Floor Common Room, Saturday Morning

In the morning, the phones didn't seem to be completely haywire anymore, which was good. Or the people -- he'd never actually figured out whether it was the phones or the people going crazy, but he was going to guess the phones.

He went to the common room and made some tea, filling up the entire pot in case anyone else came because he was considerate like that. Not considerate enough to make coffee too, though. That would require a whole different level of consideration.

He settled down on the couch with his tea, idly flipping through channels on the TV. He'd never actually managed to catch something good this early in the morning, but maybe he'd be surprised.

[[open for your common room needs! and any "wtf was that voicemail about" inquiries are more than welcome!]]

Percy wandered in, still looking slightly sleep rumpled but mostly awake. When he spotted Wesley, he lifted an eyebrow and smirked at him on the way to the refrigerator.

"I'd heard you were back," he said by way of greeting. "Couldn't stay away."

"Eh. Can't complain, I guess," he said, retrieving a bottle of orange juice and coming back over to flop down in an empty seat. "Yesterday was weird but I've come to expect that from this place."

Zatanna liked coffee as much as the next girl, but she had learned to appreciate more...delicate beverages such as tea. So on her way down the smell of the infusion drew her into the common room. "Hmmm, tea. And hey you", said as she gave Wes a little wave.

"That mean you got some strange messages too?" Percy asked since that was about the only thing weird that happened to him. "From people you don't even know?"

Warren was in that antsy mental space that he sometimes went into on days where it was both too cold to just go for a casual flight, and too fundamentally Saturday to pick up a book and study. And so, because there were certainly worst things to do on a Saturday morning, he'd set off on a mission to find other human life.

"Civilization," he greeted, peering into the common room. "Does civilization come with half-decent television programming today?"

"Someone inferred that I did strange things with goats," Percy shared, making a face. "And someone thinks I'm going to become a stripper. So yeah, confusing. Yours sound a little less strange than mine though...Post-Its?"

"I've already had my tea for the day," Warren replied, smiling a little lopsidedly, "but I might put a pot of coffee on, if it's all the same. It's before noon and I haven't had anything vaguely resembling an Americano just yet, so I think even the charms of Saturday morning TV might be lost to me, at this point."

You know, the one-third decent stuff that was cluttering up the air nowadays.

"Hey, morning," Percy greeted, giving Warren a wave. "How's it going?"
wwiii: (Mmmhmm :))

Warren smiled and offered Percy a wave right back.

"No complaints just yet," he decided. "But then, the day is still young, right? So long as the coffee pot isn't broken or something, I think it won't be a bad one, though. How are you?"

[identity profile] seaweed-demigod.livejournal.com 2011-01-08 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"Better than I was yesterday," he said and chuckled slightly. "You know, now that people aren't accusing me of doing weird things with goats or saying I'm gonna be a stripper."

To that, he toasted the general room with his orange juice.

"Well hey, you might look good in some girl's sweaters," Percy joked, unable to help himself. He was a brat at heart, after all. "Especially if they were pink and glittery."

"Weird things with goats?" Okay, that kind of made Warren break into a grin. "I think the worst I got was something about a love monkey. And great-grandmothers."

Which, when put side-by-side like that, just made the both of them doubly terrifying.

Why yes! Waves were awesome and stuff.

"Yes please", said with a smile as she helped herself. "It smells really good", added as she gave it a moment to cool down a bit.

"I don't, by the way, do weird things with goats," Percy said, making a face. They'd just remind him too much of Chiron and that was seriously weird. "What's a love monkey?"

Amazingly, Percy just smirked and shook his head. Maybe feeling lazy meant his temper wasn't up to par just yet.

"Sounds like that's something you know a thing or two about," he replied, lifting a shoulder in a shrug. "Seen many goat caressing strippers, Wesley? I'd love to learn from an expert."

"That's about all that modern television is good for anyhow," Warren replied, laughing and making his way over to dig out the coffee pot. "Background noise, and finding out just what Simon Cowell thinks about somebody's singing, or dancing, or whatever it was that he used to do the judging for."

Reality television and Warren did not generally get along well.
