First floor lobby - Afternoon
Faramir had been outside much of the morning, attempting to keep the strange creatures away from the dorms. He'd killed those that were too small to be students and scared off the others. Fatigue was settling in however and so he retreated to the dorms to rest and find some food to gather his strength.
Grey patches had started to appear on his skin and he poked at them. He supposed he should find the healers in town, but for now he was well enough to fight. He would just rest here and go find somewhere he could make himself useful later. For now he was eating crackers. His bow and quiver stood propped up against the coffee table while his blade remained across his knees. The dorms were safe of forest creatures, but they would not be safe of his fellow students. He just hoped he could help them rather than harm them.

"You are welcome to it, I merely took it from the cupboard in the kitchen," he said, motioning towards the table. "You have encountered something like this before?"
no subject
"Stores and supplies. Very important," he said, helping himself to some of the foodstuffs.
[ooc: off for a few hours!]

"Hey, dude," she greeted the well-armed guy. "How's it looking out there?"
[ooc for everyone: if you want Kenzi to have stolen something from you in her efforts, ping me here (http://regretiz4suckas.livejournal.com/1127.html), and she'll have it. ]

"Not well," he said, with a shake of his head. "It seems there is no end to them, and it is hard to know friend from foe. You seem to be prepared, however."

"I would rather no one ate anyone, to be honest, but I understand your meaning." Or possibly, he really didn't. "I can wield a blade and bow well enough." He gave her a crooked smile. "And can you wield all those weapons?"

But she liked it here. Aside from the zombies. Kenzi gave Faramir a solemn look. "You're sure we won't lose? 'Cause from where I'm standing..." She waved vaguely, then her shoulders slumped. "I've only been here a month. This sucks."

"It does not look good, but I have found where one has hope, there is always a chance," he assured her.

He was not fooled by the cheerful voice. "I am sorry to hear about your friend, but there are many resourceful people here with more knowledge of things I can scarcely imagine. If a cure can be found, then I am sure that they will."

Wait. What if the island moved before then? Nooooooes! What if Bo had left by then too? She needed to go find Bo! And tie her to something!

Not that it matter anymore for him. "There are some shops still open in town however. I would not mind escorting you if you wish to go there."

Kenzi looked out, then sighed. "Maybe laters? If you don't mind?" Although she might be totally stupid and look for Bo on her own. (http://fandomtownies.livejournal.com/6008301.html?thread=230224621#t230224621) But a mission where she stayed out longer, to get food... "That place is scary."

"It is unsettling," he agreed. "The mainland was strange as well. I travelled through some of the country, but all farms seemed to be abandoned. Perhaps that should have been a warning."

Or one or two 'appropriated' pieces from people who had fangs now, thanks. Scully was lucky Kenzi didn't find her gun.

Yeah, don't look too close at that other stuff.

"I would recommend a long range weapon against these creatures," he told her. "The less you are exposed to them, the better."

He wondered if she had enough strength to work it well, though. She did not look all that strong.

"I have a whole list of stuff to learn now." Useful stuff, unlike school. "Putting that one on there." She cocked her head. "You grew up with it?"
[and I fleee for the shower!]

"Yeah. Well, I think this one. Not the States, Canada, north of where the island was at ... some point." She fidgeted with the switchblade, opening and closing it. "I don't actually want to, you know? But I want to die a lot less."

That was actually kine of reassuring to here; that Kenzi wasn't the only one who wasn't all FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT from birth. She grimaced. "Point." She took another bite of crackers and cheese, and then said, "I'd be really good if you got lost in an urban jungle, though. I'm good at that."
She'd probably even manage Gondor, once she got oriented to where the food was.

Though he supposed Minas Tirith was intimidating in its own way, it did not compare at all.

Because he needed as much as her, to know this would not be the last thing he knew.
