Pride Meeting, First Floor Rec Room, Wednesday After Classes

There were no cupcakes this week, because Petra hadn't gotten to them. There were, however, freshly made chocolate chip cookies, possibly even still warm if you got to them quickly enough, and milk and soda. There was plenty of room on the table for other snacks if anyone wanted to bring them, plus the jar was back, now with a glittery sign taped to it reading "Snack Fund!:)"

"Hey, guys!" Petra said. "So, business first: I was talking to Tony from the frat last week about maybe doing some events in collaboration with them and the sorority, like maybe a Halloween party? I told him I was down for it, but I want to hear your thoughts, too. So, what do you guys think about that? The frat does have a neverending pizza supply in its favor..."

"Moving on, this past weekend completely freaked me out, and nothing even happened to me, but I'm realizing that that's about me, not about anybody else and how they choose to react to something like that, and also that I really need to apologize to Rosella. So if you want to talk about that, we can, and we can talk about Parents' Weekend. I know that it might be tricky for some of you whose parents haven't been around and might not know certain things, or maybe you're not sure how it'll be when they're around. But just know that we are here for you, okay? I'm in room 511, and if you need to hide out for a while, or just to talk, you know, come on by. My parents aren't coming because plane tickets cost money, but, you know, enough about me. I'd like to open the floor and if you want to talk about this stuff or anything else, great."

Butters might have almost been able to get over the impending doom of his parents visiting for the weekend with being able to actually make it to the Pride meeting this week, but then Petra had to go and talk about it and so now he was back to fretting and tapping his fingers together and looking nervously at the snack table because he was just too distraught to eat anything.

"Gee, I think gettin' together with the Frat's a great idea," said Butters with a smile, glad to think about something that wasn't his parents for a second, "but, then again, I'm in the Frat, so I guess joinin' up with them makes it a lot easier than if the two groups did their own thing."

Since they were talking about it, Butters heaved a great big put-upon sigh and shook his head sadly. "Boy, fellas, I sure am real worried about this coming weekend. My parents are gonna come in for a visit, and I'm gonna be grounded for sure!"

Wednesdays were apparently the one day she did everything ever busy days for Gabrielle this term, but she didn't mind. She especially didn't mind in light of chocolate chip cookies, oooh. She'd just be hanging out over here by the snack table for a while, okay?

And yes, because she was a nice person like that, she did manage to part with several dinars from her hardly-full money pouch to go toward the snack fund. Hopefully the conversion rate on those was decent.

Which meant he was awesome of course. Awesome and contemplating that snack jar. Sometimes he just missed committing crimes, okay?

Oh, the old days of unnecessary pouches, constantly flexed muscles, and woman whose feet were always on point even out of shoes...

After Rapunzel's muffins this morning, it looked like this was Tara's day for baked goods. She happily helped herself to a cookie and some milk as she glanced about the group.

"I'm cool with it," Tara said slowly. "I'm ... not really a huge frat party person, but I can fake it. It'll be all anthropological or something."

"Can they ground you if you're at boarding school?" Tara wondered. "I mean, I'm sure it'll be fine."

Okay, not exactly Gabrielle's idea of "partying with the Greeks," but . . .

"I don't see why not," she said. "I like the idea of anything that gives people a chance to meet other people they might not, otherwise. How else are we going to . . . to . . . keep cultivating the growth of understanding and community, if we don't do that?"

Yes, she actually said things like that in complete earnest. You could stare if you wanted to; she was used to it.

That question just earned Tara a great big frowny face. "They're my parents," he explained simply. "Of course they can ground me."

His eyes shifted a little, fingers starting to tap. "It's not like I'm....Ungroundable...."

Though he was thinking of walking down that dangerous path once more for the sake of this weekend, nervous and terrifying as it may be.

"Ungroundable," Tara repeated, mostly because the word was interesting. "I ... I guess parents are different? I don't think m-mine realized they could still ground me after I came to school here, 'cause, uh, I don't live with them anymore."

She flicked a cookie crumb away from one hand. "I mean, how would they know?"

Mercy was here and still rather glum about the upcoming Parents Weekend.

Seifer grabbed some cookies as he passed the table, and made sure to drop several gold coins (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Gil) in the snack fund jar.

"Well, I don't see a problem with it." Seifer was completely okay with partying with the frat. Since, he was in the frat.

"Sure, why not?" Mercy said. "I'm part of the sorority and well, pizza's always good."

Mercy wasn't in much of a talking mood. She really didn't want to see her mother this weekend.

"Oh, parents have lots of ways of finding stuff like that out," Butters said with authority, before his shoulders fell again and he sighed. "And if they grounded me then found out I wasn't stayin' grounded, then they'd be even more mad than then at first!"

"I'm okay with it. PIZZA." Kenzi nibbled another cookie.

"Nobody's coming for me," Kenzi said, reaching for another cookie. "Mostly because they don't know where I am. At least, I don't know how they'd find out."

Ahahahah, she was very wrong about that. But oh well.
